Wow you really dont know how to read do you. The weekly Maint That i am suggesting wouldnt come with any weapons nor would i want them to. Just to update the files in the game that the hacks depend on rendering them useless. Read an makesure you understand what you are reading before you make a post and start you'r trolling. -
Here we go, for all you doubters that a update renders hacks useless. Tonight is the patch. Pay attention to how many hackers you see on tonight, trust me the ammount will be mind blowing. It always does because the hackers know that their hacks will no longer work when the servers come back up.
About time they did a game update anyway, X-mas was 7 weeks ago take down your idiotice xmas decorations already! lol. Lokking forward for several days of hacker free gaming!!!!!!!!!! -

Wow, no disrespect but, do you play the same game that I do? Because I see one almost every game I play. And I do understand what I am suggesting. And accounts get banned yes, not IP's this does not help the problem, not very hard to make a new account. Like I said I am not trying to provoke you, that is not my intention, I am just trying to get my side understood. There shouldnt be any getting back in gear to it, you guys pay for X-Traps service they should stay on top of their definitions. Of course this isnt Conquer Online, but the basic idea is the same. Updating the files that the hacks depend on once per week would greatly reduce the effectiveness of the hacks. Every Time we get a patch there are changes made to these files, this in turn stops the hacks from working. That fact can not be disputed. What it boils down to is the community is not satisfied with the hack control in this game it is getting way out of hand, for example last night I reported 25 people for using obvious hacks like one shot kill going under the map etc. The current system is not working and is eating the company's profit. I feel that if looked into properly by the server Admins and properly implimented this suggestion will greatly help, give x-trap more time to gather information on the hacks to properly update their definitions, and end with the community being much happier. More satisfied customers leads to more money being spent in the game. As quickly as this game is going down hill I am personally not spending any more money on this game until I see improvents made torward Hack Provention.
tbh i agree with everything your saying, but the issue here is that as a company they need to make profit and so if they IP banned everyone who cheated (some people just cheat to see what its like then never again) they would lose profit (thats my opinion though as i dont know the exact reasons behind why people dont get IP banned instantly but i imagen thats why), a majority of people who do hack pay to get ZP as surveys for large ammounts tend to mean you have to sign up and buy some for the ameteur surveyers
(again my opinion) but the point is ive had this discussion with fallenangel a long long time ago back in the first few days the game host switched from suba to z8. pretty much even though the people that hack need to be stopped they cant IP ban unless its a multiple offense. there account getting perm banned on there accounts is supposed to show them that they cant get away with cheating.
i believe the auto ban system in play atm works like this..... (again correct me if im wrong) its 7 days for a first offense 30 days for a second offense 3 times and your IP banned (correct me if im wrong). this doesnt even matter if you use different accounts as your own IP has a tracker. this tracker gives them a folder for all the accounts under this IP. so they can keep track of people who have multiple offenses.
but tbh i do agree with perminate IP bans. but just remeber that people can indeed get around IP bans. anyone with a brain anyways.

We're getting off subject here i could care less if they impliment an IP bann. What I am suggesting is Weekly server Maint. that makes slight chages to the files the hacks depend on rendering them useless. Not banning the IP of the hacker, just preventing the hacks from working at all. -

Monthly is no where good enough to controll hacks. you are all not reading my original post. I am not asking for new content. I am asking for Server Maintenance, making small changes to the files the hacks depend on. Like this Morning in game ITS GREAT, no 1 shots no one in the columns in egypt, no hacks period. Because there have been changes to the files the hacks depend on rendering them useless. Mark my words by next week unless there is a server maintenance patch the hackers will start over running this game. You wouldnt support this suggestion unless you wanted the hacks to come back, do you want that? -

I agree, and think that they actually sell the source to the makers of the vip hacks... If they arent then why havent they gone after them. This game is copyrighted and for someone to make money selling a mod without paying g4box for the rights leaves them open to a law suit. -
I don't think you truly understand how what you're talking about works.
Anyway, What we have going is working. There really aren't as many hackers as you think, and over 95% get banned, and pretty quickly.
X-Trap is getting back in gear finally, and the auto ban system is working great. Also if you did some research, you would know with this patch it's being improved.
This isn't "Conquer Online" things don't work the same.
Yea,excepted for a Colonel that i've reported (actually i have 27 Hacking Reports Tickets) and 7 days later i've seen it again. Hacking Again. And reported him again. Why don't Permaban? -
Agreed prodiac, even if they sell the source code to the hackers , or the source code is "leaked" or anything similiar happens, this has a good solution: they should ban effectively the hackers (with replay of course) and make them an example, not the protected ones!
It seems from what i am seeing alot of players already left this game...me for instance, i went there to se the weapons then i leave, i do not play already for a few days, and i am a paying costumer (i think i spend about 300$) i send alot of replays(the ones that trully hacks)..guess what..i just checked 90% of them are not banned lol -

By preforming Server Maintenance last night, which included slight changes to the files the hacks depend on, Guess What. A Day Hack Free! This is what I've been trying to say all along. The key to getting the hacks under control lies within Hack PREVENTION. Yes you have to have good Hack Detection in place, but it is pointless with out maintenance to help prevent them in the first place. For once I can say and actually mean good job z8, for the first time in a very long time. Now Just keep up the Server Maintenance on a WEEKLY Basis and I guarantee that the community will be much more satisfied. -

I think alot of us can agree that Game watcher is not effective. I use to play Conquer Online and to help control some of the hacks in that game they would preform server maintenance once per week, which also helps with server lag, making slight changes to certain files the hacks depend on in the game. This would put the work load on the coders of the hacks much harder and less time we would have to deal with them. One patch per month is not enough to keep this game running smoothly. Conquer's servers would be down for 1 hour per week, I think we can handle that for the benefits we would reap from them.
I really hate to blow this falacy out of the water, but X-Trap patches without server maintenance.
In fact most of the anti hacking measures except major game code changes can be done without shutting the servers down.
X-Trap has updated up to 5 times since Feb 17th.
Likely, the other games you refer to were down that often for their own purposes. For example, our maintenance last night was a lot of server side things that just can't be done with the servers live.
There's a ton of misconceptions with maintenance and anti hacking stuff. Our suggestion is to not worry so much about it. We don't need to announce when anti-hacking measures are being taken. It gives unnecessary advantages to the people who want to hurt the game. -

I understand That x-Trap patches without server maintenance. I also understand that x-trap is Hack Detection and not prevention. What I am suggesting is you guys do a weekly patch, just slight changes to the files the hacks depend on, as a prevention measure. You guys know what these files are, and It works. In other games this is the purpose of weekly maintenance.
Agreed you dont want to announce measures of this nature. And im sorry I do worry about it when I am a paying customer for this game and I have to watch it go down hill more and more by the day. Just give it some thought. And I know you guys are Updating x-trap alot, and that's good, but it's also just definitions for their detection. We Desperately Need To Focus More Toward Prevention, and keep the detection going as is. But Prevention Is The Key To Getting This Under Control.

Also as many peaople that are using one shot hacks these days I think we should look into moving certain aspects of the game such as how much damage inflicted from weapons to the server side apposed to the client. And if that is done there are ways to prevent a drop in latency. The more that could be kept on the server side the better, The more that is kept to the client side just makes it that much easier on the Hack Developers.

Actually, if you were on early in the day after the maintenance patch, which included slight changes to the files the hacks depend on it rendered them useless. Now later in the day or night the hack developers had already made new ones but i know for a fact that there was not any one shoters on that morning.
