Sound Problem

Hello,
i've a problem considering the sound of crossfire, from the first day i installed crossfire on my pc and i can't get any sound while playing the game.. Anyone can help?

PS: i've sound turned on/Background effect turned on.. and this is my 2nd day ingame..

well when you login you can go in right conner on

options>sound/and there you will found sound try fix soomething there

Ok, So i tried what u told me and i still see there was no problem in my sound option as u can see here:


it's the same sound option i've when i'm inside a game.. Any ideas?
i just downloaded this client from z8games 2 days ago, and it downloaded 40 patches for the game when i first started it..

well then i have just one more idea

go to control penel>Game inditacor>sounds>games,music,video>music,Z8games>CrossFire

Turn on On and put on maximum i don't know what are your windows so i can't help you wery much but try this is last chanse to play with music

i've windows xp professional
and i dont have anything called game indicator in my control panel, there is only game controllers in my CP, is this the one u mean?

Anyone out there can help us?
i've noticed that i've the sound files exit in crossfire folder on my C:\ in the REZ Folder
C:\Program Files\Z8Games\CrossFire\rez\Snd2
this is the path.. is this the correct one? or is it a client thing? or should i Reinstall the game??

I did, still no sound of any thing in the game
the game is not so exciting without any sound effects

Same Problem it worked great,but no sound now. i reinstalled the game again but same problem.

Update all your sound drivers from the developers website.

Definitely don't hesitate to try a reinstall of the game, there's rarely a problem with doing that!


As for specific sound issues, we're unaware of any major ones right now however we'll have to track this to see if it shows up more often!

Have you tried updating directx by any chance? Not that I think it would be a solution, but you never know. Also checking the drivers for your sound card are properly installed is a good step as well (Windows will show sound working fine without sound drivers, but often there are motherboard drivers or updates if it's a built in card).

Well, Negative on that directX update, i've never updated my DirectX. but i'll try it now hopefully that will be the solution.

About my sound card i've an acer laptop and i've went to acer site and downloaded the sound card drive update- installed it but still that didn't help me.

Edit: i'm Downloading the DirectX Update Now.

Didn't work Saidin, after updating my DirectX to the latest version the game still has no sound

Turned out that the problem was in my windows copy.. i installed a new one and sound worked! game is way better with sound on... Thanxs for help.
