  • Well not too many people use special 50$ headests for crossfire.. But I do think that it should be something that crossfire has to offer... The sound FX and what not aren't too advanced on crossfire... It's really basic and the maps do have a bit of construction no doubt, but there's no buildings that have multiple floors and rooms and what-not.. Just alot of ground level places. Just a normal cruddy 5$ headset would be more than enough for this game lol.

uhh you should play GM more...
  • lol I do play GM and I think it's kinda... trashy.. People running around while being invisible half the time using knives, axes. etc. and the only way to hear them is by their breathing or footsteps... It's fun at times but even with my headset, I can hear them well enough to pinpoint.

True, Agree, It's easy to see them, But when they B-hops, And Stands still, I cant barely hear, and then Some noobs In My team are shooting like hell cause they panick and I cant hear a **** xD There should be a option so You can have a limited "Minus-Maximum" BReathing/step Sound.

If u think GM is ''kinda trashy'' you CAN'T PP or BHOP!

Not even that. Whats worse is when 2 or 3.. or heck even 1 is bunnyhopping around to exploit the engine and stay invisible, using the 1 hit kill uber range shovel, with sound down it becomes LITERALLY unplayable.

I have a 200 dollar 7.1 dolby digital surround sound headphones that can pinpoint play over 300 sounds at any one time. And even then I cant tell when someone's breathing above, below, to my left or slighty left, etc.

This has been done on purpose in order to make gameplay, especially in ghostmode, were sound is crucial, fair. If third party software is allowed to improve or alter sound within the game, then what's to stop someone from reprogramming that software to filter out certain sounds all together?

For example; if you could lower or completely filter out the sound of gunfire and people yelling "Fire in the hole!", and you would be left with the sound of people's footsteps, people falling, and ghosts breathing, then how fair would ghostmode still be?

    You can doof.

    Options > Sound > Radion Messeges = 0

And wait, how the f*** does selecting output device lead to filtering and modding sounds!? You can do that already honestly just by modding the games sound files to be quieter for the gun sounds.

All the sounds I just mentioned aren't radio messages. Your team mates yelling []nice shot or []Bomb spotted, are radio messages. And only these can you turn off legally.

And yes, bright minds can alter the sound files, but this is a banable offense. And Z8games is allowed to freeze your account on suspicion of doing so, and ask to see your sound files. If they find out they have been tempered with, then you'll be banned permanently, just like any other hacker.

However, if third party software is allowed to temper with the output of these sound files, then there is no way for Z8games to get any feedback on this.

In the end this would mean that pro pin pointers would get banned on suspicion of using third party software to alter their sound alone, or that the real hackers abusing this software would go unpunished.

So obviously you know NOTHING about this subject.

    1. Choosing Sound Output has nothing to do with thrid part programs. It is simply (For people like me who have 4 different outputs and 2 different mics connected) to tell the game "Use my speakers, not my headphones please" it has nothing to do with third party programs. And if you can get a modded headset that doesn't play certain soundfiles ill be f***ing amazed.

2 and 3. Modding the sound file is not detectable. And even if they ask to see the sound files, you can easily swap them back before showing and Z8 has no way of figuring out you did so due to the fact if they DO monitor any contents on your keyboard that is a Federal Offense in the us and falls both under Hacking (The term is broad legally) and Invasion of Privacy (No matter how small the extent)
  • +1 for this idea

Trashfire, always gives me sound problems.
Because I can't select my output device!

You keep believing that, kid, and one day you'll find yourself without an account to play on.
