German Weapons

The XM8 is a developmental U.S. military designation and project name for a lightweight assault rifle system that was under development by the United States Army from the late 1990s to early 2000s. The Army worked with the German small arms manufacturer Heckler & Koch (H&K) to develop the system to its requirements in the aftermath of the OICW contract, for which H&K had been a subcontractor to ATK. General Dynamics was involved in latter stages and H&K had plans to produce the rifle at a plant in Georgia. H&K was British-owned at the start of the project, but was later bought back by a group of German investors. Engineering work was done at facilities in the United States and Germany. The U.S. Army's purpose in contracting for this prototype weapon was to provide replacement options for the venerable M16 rifle after the XM29 program ran into problems.

ok then XM8 is partly made in germany -
Lol, Heckler and Koch. I think I prefer FN Herstal (Belgium)
While it's nice to watch these shows on how the MP7 is supposedly as strong as an assault rifle, it's really pathetic in real life compared to a full size assault rifle.
No, the XM8 is not going to replace the US' standard full size assault rifle.
Not going to happen. The HK416 is probably one of the best guns made in germany(or in the world) it is like an m4 but NEVER jams, but since its not in CF i'd say the XM8
and FYI all the guns u mentioned are made by HKHK G11 was an amazing project with the caseless ammo.
Agree with HK 416 being a great rifle too. -

But the G11 looks ugly. I'm happy, that the gverment took the G36. The Caseless ammo is used by Metalstorm now. ( They made a weapon, which has a RoF of 1.000.000/min.) -

I hope that they implent this gun, it could be like a stronger version of the M4A1 with less recoil and more Power. -

wikicitate:
Metal Storm has created a 36-barreled stacked projectile machine gun, boasting the highest rate of fire in the world. This weapons system has a firing rate capability of slightly more than one million rounds per minute. -

U never met the german G3 the precurser weapon of the german army.
A G36 is like M16 and M4 mainly made of plastics for the light weight.
To be clear the XM8 was a concept for the new standard rifle for the US Army which was aopen call for tender where every weapon manufacturer could particpate.
The desigen and first couple of weaps had been made in Germany i dont know if they already made a high number of them or if its in use.
Its just that american weapon designer have a certain lack in something.
Even the whole gun and electronics in the tower of the M1 Abrams is the same as in the Leopard 2 Battletank friendly provieded from German Manufacurers to our allies overseas. -
