1cLicKed's AK Guide!
Comments
-
K, so I don't normally make guides, but I'm sort of bored and since there's not a bunch of ak users, I decided to make a guide!Advantages and Disadvantages of AK
- Fast RoF
- High power
- High accuracy
- Easy spray
- Lightweight
- High recoil
- Can get picked by an M4 in long range
- Takes time to learn
Strafing
Most people don't think about strafing much, but it can be a big factor of getting the kill or not.
With AK, most of the time, small strafes from side to side. It allows you to not get picked as easy ( messes up the enemies aim by a tad ) and the cross-hair doesn't open up at all.
Spraying
When you spray, it should be calm and controlled. The spray pattern is farely easy, so it shouldn't be hard to learn. Just spray against a wall and watch where the spray pattern goes. Then try to control it. Practice, practice, practice.
Also, by strafing side to side, the spray becomes MUCH easier.
Short/Mid/Long rangesShort-range- Short range is basically spraying. But as always, it should be calm and collected. You can mix crouching, strafing, and all that stuff to throw the enemy off from time to time. AK is truly a beast at close range.
- Right before you shoot, you can try to pull down your cross hair slightly. This goes for close and mid-range also.
Mid-range- Mid range is personal preference. You can have fast 1 taps, 3 shot bursts, or small sprays ( if you're good with controlling the recoil ). Once again, it's all person preference. I prefer 3 shot bursts, but at times, I do small sprays.
- As said above, pull down your cross hair right before you shoot.
Long-range
- Long range is mostly fast 1 taps, with 2 shot bursts mixed in. You still want to strafe like close/mid, but you don't want to pull your cross hair down. In long range, try aiming for the neck/head area, as there won't be any recoil while 1 tapping. If you don't kill him, you at least want to injure him by doing high damage.
Videos
If you want to see Malte demonstrating each range, go to youtube and watch his videos. They help a lot.
While using AK ...
- ... Be relaxed. If you use AK whilst being relaxed, you'll do much better.
Cross Hair
- For AK, I feel Type A, Green is the best. It shows the spray, unlike type C. It allows you to be more aware of where the bullets going. BUT that's my preference. Some people might think differently.
Thanks for reading my guide I don't normally make guides so just leave your comments
P.S. These stuff work for me. If some of the things I mentioned don't work for you, then that's fine. Just do what's most comfortable for you.
BAII
I wonder if all ak are equal or are some that are more easily handled than others? I hope you answer me because I have camo ak47 ak 47, and really do not know which of the two used more or is more favorable to the gold or silver? -

a useful old guide, thanks for creating this [a bit late to thank i guess ]
just saw the thread is live again and so i wanted to add some info + opinions.
well, ak47 is the hardest weapon to control.
but it is not only a gun, it is a lifestyle,
so you MUST be patient to be able to use it in order.
i want to write my opinions by following your post step by step.
these are totally my opinions and experiences so don't misunderstand please.
adv: i don't agree with "easy spray" and "lightweight".
disadv: i don't agree with "can get picked by an m4 in long range". vice versa, ak is the beast at long range.
strafing: totally agree. on last few bullets you have to target to ground.
spraying: you can't follow reverse of the pattern to hit the enemy. there are too many factors on it. jumping ? side to side ? cross side ? one enemy or double ? is he/she on a stone or are you up ?
but basicly make little circles with your mouse and at the same time smoothly move your cursor down.
but if we say these all make %50 effect on accuracy, other %50 is about keyboard (w-a-s-d order).
short range: agree but start to spray with head and go on with moving your cursor slightly down.
mid range: agree but again same, pull down right after starting to shoot.
long range: only 1-tap. if it turns into a long-timed fight, then try a chance for switching to melee or pistol then to ak47 again. because whatever you do, after about 10 bullets you won't be able to control your cursor well, even on 1-tap.
while using: just as you say; "relax".
crosshair: it is discused thousands time but i still insist on Type C in any scenario. again: Type C, in any scenario. god.Zeus makes 50+ kills in uk4 ch1 in Blackwidow while playing against full pro players and he insists on Type A/B but as an experienced engineer, mathematically i will never give up Type C.
choose of the colour depends on the map rainbow. i generally use blue but in spain, ankara, compund etc yellow is better, on most others green is better but i like blue.
additional info: i haven't compared with others yet but i guess ak liquid metal is lighter than other ak47 variants and it comes to hand more quicker (i mean while switching to pistol/melee). so it absorbs the disadvantage of the time of weapon switch when compared to m4 variants.
if you win the round alone 1 vs 5+ with an m4, people will say: ouw yeah nice.
if you win the round alone 1 vs 5+ with an ak47, people will say: damn.. i'm uninstalling..
these were all my ideas, might be wrong sometimes.
have fun.
ak47 forever.
