Opinion: Type 89
Hello, for all of those wondering about the new rifle the Type 89 here is a bit of information.
Range to Power
Close: Four hits to the chest, one hit to the head.
Medium: Four hits to the chest, and one to the head.
Far: At this distance it can do 99 damage head shots.
Weight:
While its weight is "high" I honestly feel it isn't a major issue. Running some quick (and very unscientific tests) we found little difference running with the M4A1 and running with the Type 89.
Reload time:
At 3 seconds it puts in at the same reload time as the M4A1. For a point of reference its 1 sec slower then the Scar L and 1 sec faster then the AUG.
Rate of Fire:
Once again unscientific tests were done once again! Averaging around 3 seconds for the Type 89 to spray an entire clip (30 bullets). For a point of reference the M4A1 also takes 3 seconds to spray an entire clip.
Spray Pattern:
The spray pattern is a 7 (note: this can be reversed, to a backwards 7). Overall its pretty easy to control most of the time you can simply pull down to the left or right and hold the fire button down.
Overall:
The Type 89 is a solid weapon for anyone that A) wants to use something other then the M4A1 but also wants to box people or never got the M4A1 C / M4A1 Adv and wants to use a "silent" weapon.

I don't see whats so good about this gun.
Honestly, it depends on your play style. There is nothing "overpowered" about this gun, however I don't believe I ever said it was "amazing". Its simply another decent alternative weapon to the M4A1 (I consider the M4A1 to be "average" for a scrim weapon). -

I never said it like that I just don't get whats the big hype about this weapon. -
Personally I think the Type89 is a overal a average gun it is very sluggish yet does perform quite well under every other circumstances... It has a great ROF and there is a decent drop over a long range but thats normal for every gun... That my 2 cents on the subject

Ah, sorry if I came off being aggressive it was not my intent. That being said, currently the gun most likely is over hyped the information I provided above however is my attempt to give the empirical facts in regards to the Type 89.Sanitarium202 wrote: »i dont know if i should get it...
I tried it and it was good but what if its like the Qbz. When i tried the Qbz I owned then when i bought it...it sucks, not what im used to.
Honestly, try it before you even consider buying it. That or make a new account, I picked it up mainly because of its ability to deal 100% damage through boxes/wood which is a must for riflers on some maps.Agh... debating if i should buy this and try it >_<
Its more or less an M4A1 with reduced noise and a different recoil pattern. Honestly, I still firmly believe only a few rifles matter the others are side grades.
Side note: If anyone wants to try it out, message me on xfire tomorrow ill probably be busy with the CF tournament match but after that I should have some free time to drop it. Quite honestly, I doubt I will ever use it in any scrim as a rifler the only weapons you really need would be x1 M4A1 and x1 Deagle and your good to go. That being said ideally you would be using the M4A1-C or the M4A1- Adv depending upon your preference for more bullets or less recoil.
(xfire is 1icyph3r if you need it)
