Non-October Patch Issue - *URGENT!*
Okay, I can play the game, and everything seems normal. In fact, there isn't any real problem with the actual game at all. No lag, no ping issues, and it's really, really fun.
But, when I quit or my internet blows up (happens more often than you'd think...) either it goes between a black lit screen and turning my monitor off repeatedly (only when it crashes...), or *THE URGENT PART* when I quit the game and try to open an application (for example, instant messaging, Mozilla Firefox, ANYTHING like that, even opening CrossFire up again, or even the Task Manager...) there *may* be a little hourglass on the very first application I try to start, but it won't open any applications. I have to turn off my computer and turn it back on if I want to do anything on my computer after playing Crossfire.
I love Crossfire, I really do, but it's getting to the point where I'm just sick of it.
Please, SOMEONE, write back on how to fix this TERRIBLE problem!
I'm on an HP laptop, it has plenty of all the fancy stuff, and I admit, it is pretty old. It's running Kaspersky Internet Security 2010, and I usually close most unnecessary programs before playing.

Try to share more technical info about ur "old laptop". Maybe there is the problem. I dont have a quite new computer either, so when i close CF it takes a moment or two for my system to understand it. But its not permanent and ofc i'm not restarting the pc.
I have one "handy" solution, i dont know if it'll work but give it a try. When u r about to quit CF, try to shut it down using task manager. Then perhaps u will see if the problem is during the "exiting" from the game, the laptop or the game itself.
Good luck. -
