new motherboard cost? + a ton of questions

*sigh* as of tonight its clear to me that i cannot play with these dreadful lag spikes.

i just got done with a pistol only match in egypt with a clanmate and i could get to the halfway mark of the map... 27% of the time.


when i go to nade.. i lag, when i see an opponent.. i lag, when im running/defending a bomb site.. if you guessed i clutch the victory and ace it up, your wrong.


so.. how much would a new motherboard cost (seeing as thats what is wrong, according to a few people.)


SOME NOTES:
1)i have no idea about computers, for the most part.
2)my normal ping is 42-45
3)i live in pennsylvania, usa. so its not that far from servers.

also, whats a cheap graphics card that i can get that should work wonders for this game? right now im sittin at a nvidia geforce 5200.



AND for the last question (i think): if i would get rid of my router, which at the moment has 2 laptops on it, along with my desktop (sometimes 3 if my sisters boyfriend brings his over), could that get rid of my ping spikes? i only ask this because from what i know ping is connection, are they interfereing?

i dont mind playing on the lowest graphics, no blood, no nothing, i just want to go a day where my screen doesnt freeze right when im about to shoot.

Its obvious that your internet connection will slow down if other computers aside from yours are connected..

ok, well i have to go ninja on them or something, because i will probably get shot if i take my sister and parents off the internet, i mean, if i do this is it easy to get them back on xD?


or is there a way to disable them for a little bit, because they dont need on at night.. =p.

Does your sises bf download files or any other computers download while you play? anything downloading on the router will make all computers hooked up to it slow and pinggy

What kind of FPS are you getting, and is that what you want to up?

Motherboards are usually cheap, you'd get away with 50 bucks for a good one.
The main issue is that you most likely will have to get other new gear too.
Mainly CPU and, if you're using an old motherboard, RAM.

Lagspikes (Ping going a few hundred above normal) are
1) Wireless. Don't use it.
2) Latest patch. Most of us are getting/used to get it. But its of course not on Z8s end.
3) Someone stealing your bandwidth, ie, sister.

im getting about 45 fps as well, but lately its been dropping when i walk into smoke nades(which i dont mind too much)

seems like a lower fps but the game seems to be running smoothly.

my problem has been like this well before this patch (ever since i downloaded the game)


glad to hear about the price of a motherboard though.

and next time i play, im gonna make sure my sisters laptop, and my parents' laptop are both off.

thanks to everyone helping, hopefully i can get to the bottom of this. im having more of a trouble fighting lag than i am anyone else in game lol.
