CPU running CF at 100%
Hi, I recently reinstall windows on my computer and CF was one of the first game I got. However I only notice a short time ago that my CPU always run at 100% when CF is on. I can hear the CPU fan goes nut whenever CF is up and running (never notice before because I always have musics on) and this concerns me. Is this a bug or something? My computer can handle games that have more reqs than CF with only 60-80% of CPU usage. Can someone clear me out on this? Thank you.
btw I only have 1-2 small programs running on the background, CPU is normally at 2-3% usage nothing eating up all the memory beside CF.

That 'READ FIRST BEFORE YOU POST' thread in Tech Support seriously comes in handy.
and why is my computer spec important? I already state my PC can easily run CF and its the only program that makes CPU running at 100%. Ive had this computer for over 2 yrs and play CF with no problem before so there is no compatibility issue. -
Not exactally, i got an Athlon II x2 245 and it uses 30% on core 1 and 20% on core 2. usually this 100% usage is another app running, unless u saw the 100% on task manager specific process. In this case can be low ram, corrupted files, viruses, and a lot more things xD

Again, list your system specs.
The CF engine still has plenty of bugs in it, considering its age and doesn't always play at 10,000 FPS just because you have a "high-end" system. If you want proof of that, look up Halo 2 and google search a list of poorly-ported games from consoles to PCs.
CrossFire does not support multi-core processors, and your poor performance may just be because the game engine isn't properly fixed for all its bugs. Example, Crysis Warhead had better performance than the original Crysis on high-end hardware because its game engine had been refined. -
Ty for the responses.... I figure out the problem by myself. Apparently gameguard/CF itself triggers a clash between window defender and my antivirus so they both increase the load when CF is up and that leads to 100% CPU usage. If I turn either of them off things come back to normal and I can enjoy playing again without the irritation of the CPU fan running at 100%.
