  • Yep. Sorry Rex said it. Ok so we got Ranked In-Game Pick&Choose Screenshot Report Ban System.

    What the hell is that?
  • Just a quick response to a suggestion like this. Mostly because stuff like this isn't as easy as one might suggest.

First off there are legal issues that would need to be sorted for file transfers between your computer and our servers. The game isn't designed to take a screenshot of your game and save it directly to the server. The point being jpgs are external files. And automatic file transfers of this kind need to probably go through different legal channels than the ones you already agree to when you sign up for the game.

There are also massive bandwidth problems that could arise from hundreds of thousands of screenshots being taken all over the game being transferred back and forth.

So the point being, it's not just lets hire a bunch of people to look at screenshots all day. There's a lot more going on for a system like that than someone might initially assume.

Touché, do you have any plans to make an easier report system then?

Atleast some1 is knowledgable here...Could you tell me if the legal issues could be sorted out in a manageable fashion if considered? Also is it possible to use the old foxtrot server bandwith to handle the screenshots?
  • If a false screen shot is received they could just give out a 1-3 day ban. Cause with this idea you'd have to be extremely t4rdcapped to send a false scr shot...

    good idea, with this x2^

I like that someone is coming up with new unique ideas, but I see a problem (:C). Wouldn't innocent people be banned just for looking at the wrong place at the wrong time? Also, one screen-shot really cannot 100% all the time determine whether somebody hacks, unless of course it's of their 70-2 score or their 8 kills in a row during S&D before the team even leaves their spawn (stuff that's happening now).
Although I do agree something like this should be put into effect just for maybe a 2nd level of reporting power. It still needs a little bit of work on what circumstances and reasons it takes that picture (not totally random).

You can think of something, keep up the good work!

What if it was like the "save replay" button, or if it's somehow put along with the replay when you save it such as saving a .zip with a .cfr and a .jpg inside?
  • Just tell to the guys in X-trap to keep their *Antihack* updated and thats all.
The vip hack cracked its been out there for like 2 and a half weeks so dont tell me that ppl in X-trap company can`t patch that thing -___-!
  • It would work if everyone had the space for screenshots, a accurate checking system, if the screenshots were transfered ,via. a constant stream, imagine the lag?!?! So if everyone of the previous issues was corrected sure I'd be for it ^^
edit: if someone else said this srry, just read the orginal post and gave my 2 cents.
  • I like it and it is not like Z8 have to review any screen-shots, the idea is that people after a game can review the screen-shots themselves - Only sending in weird screens shots such as blue enemies through walls.
