Scrim/gamesense guide I put together a while ago

I put this together a long time ago, so if you notice anything wrong/weird, please tell me and I will edit it.
(all sites referred to in this document are based on EE)

BL SIDE
-Planting the bomb is the first priority. If you are about to plant the bomb and you see someone running in the distance, plant first, then kill. If the person is in a spot where they see you/can kill you, then take care of him first.
-Play the bomb timer. If they can’t defuse the bomb, then they can’t win. So stay in a spot where you can see the bomb, and isn’t completely out in the open. Under no circumstances should you plant, then rush the opponent. Chances are they will kill you and go for an easy defuse. The more time wasted on the clock the better. You could die, but if the bomb explodes before they can defuse it, then we have won.
-You don’t have to immediately have a site picked out and rush to that site. Play it slow. Figure out where the opponents are. Make the call appropriately. The site we want to go to is the site with the least amount of people, or the easiest to pick off. A kid with an m700 sitting at A is a lot easier than an Aker at b.
-Rushing won’t help anything, unless we do it together. Follow the strat. Never go off on your own unless told to do so.
-Don’t clump. If we are going A long, and 2 people are just sitting there walking into site, an experienced awmer could pick up both with 2 shots. That doesn’t mean two people can’t go A long, but leave a certain amount of distance between you. Use angles to block yourself from view working into site.
-Figure out where they like to go. Call appropriately.
-Take site as a team. If the bomb is at A, never let one person in alone (except in a clutch situation.)
-Cover your team mate when he is planting. Try to also plant in a spot that minimizes potential encounters.

GR SIDE
This is the easier of the 2 sides. If you do these things, you should be fine.
-Hold your spot. If the plan is to cover B, cover B. If the bomb is planted at A, rotate accordingly.
-Don’t clump when going to the bomb site. If someone is going to A from mid, have the other go to A from BL spawn stairs.
-Rushing will do nothing. If you hold your spot, there should be no reason that they can get into site. If you do die, call where they are and how many.
-Figure out where they like to go. If they have 3 people rushing B, maybe move the person from mid over to support the man guarding B.
-Cover your team mate when he is defusing.
-The most direct route isn’t always the best. Think about where people will be waiting for you, and try to avoid going there. There is always a weak spot in where they are holding site. Find and exploit it.

GENERAL GUIDELINES
-Save all rants and QQs for the end of the match. The team chat is for seeing where people are, telling people where to go, and ggs or nts after the end of the round. As soon as the round starts, only crucial things must be put in the team chat.
-Never ever ever use public chat. Insulting the other team is bad etiquette, even if they start it.
-Using the shift key is never a bad idea. Footsteps can be heard from far away. It’s also a dead giveaway of where a person is.
-Don’t throw grenades too soon. Dead giveaway of where we are headed. (unless we are planning a fake, which we will work on later)
-LISTEN TO THE STRAT CALLER. Seriously. If you don’t. Well, you don’t want to know.
-You are not the best player ever. Don’t pretend like you are.
-Don’t get discouraged, you will lose, it will happen. There will be hackers, it will happen. You will have bad days, it will happen. Stay positive.
-Have sound on. Listen. Footsteps and nades can be a big giveaway about where the other team is going. It can be hard to figure out exactly where they are, but with some skill, you will be able to figure it out.
-Use the minimap. It’s a good way to see where your team mates are to avoid team nades, clumping, being scared when they sneak up behind you, etc.
-Don’t QQ. Just don’t.
-Clutch or cut. Seriously.

  • There's no real guide for gamesense, you have to pick it up.

Oh yeah, totally. What I was trying to say is, if you do this stuff, you can start to play smart and develop gamesense.
  • This is actually the worst guide I have ever read IMO.
