Best pistol for longer ranges?

Hi, I've recently bought a XM1014 shotgun. As you might guess I expect to be able to depend on a pistol at mid to long ranges. The problem is I recently found out that the Anaconda doesn't do range particularly well (3 damage body shot across the map powerplant). So I am faced with a choice, either to find out what the best pistol for long range is (if any) or moan about the Anaconda not being able to do damage at longer ranges ( at one point a desert eagle would kill with a headshot where an Anaconda wouldn't) Oh and the reason I'd expect the Anaconda to be able to do long ranges is because of its accuracy, if not for long ranges why does it even exist?

Before you just start spamming Desert Eagle at me across powerplant (I used that map as somewhat of a standard) it only did 5-6 damage with a bodyshot.

Does anybody know the loss of damage on the Glock 18? Again with the good accuracy I'd expect it to be able to deal some amount of damage across the map even if I do have to use the burst fire. Maybe even the P228 does well at long range? I dont know I'm asking you.

Of course there might be the fact that pistols are just not made for long range but I hope that this is not true. Knowing that the only way I can damage an enemy is either with a trusty grenade or by having to sneak up on them really looms over you, perhaps I should just accept this an just have bag 2 primed for long range?

Though i havnt tested, i would think deag and conda being the powerhouse pistols, all the others would lose power too.

I think you answered it yourself though, pistols are hardly made for long range fighting, except if your going to be aiming for the head.

Anaconda is the only pistol ingame that is able to hit targets at long range without loosing stopping power

Keep in mind that pistols are only secondary weapons, so dont expect to be pwning against skilled players with their primaries on. IMO, the best pistol is the deagle. Takes 2 shots to kill up close but looses damage over distance. However, it usually takes 1 deagle shot if you have already damaged them with your primary.

Always pair a shotgun with the Anaconda whenever possible. It has good accuracy and power and I think is always a one shot headshot, unlike the Deagle at long range. You should be able to fend off any long rangers with an Anaconda until you get close enough to the action to pull out the XM1014.
