Website PUG system.

Wondering if we could get something going like this for CF: http://cssmixes.co.uk/mixes

This would bring active PUGs 24/7, quick and easy to start.
Treni thinks it's a good idea.

No i'm poor, the thread was an idea to see if something like this could be made, or if anyone will be able to make it.

ESL has a pug system. Gathers.

There isn't a vent server included at gathers.

Maybe it's possible sG can do this. We are currently working on getting funds so that we can also provide a website.

Any chance they will be available for CF NA?

    Possibly ;)

    Well isn't ESL strictly European?

    You're stupid.

ESL stands for Electronic Sports League, not European. Common mistake.

There is however a 100 PUG vent for euros, and I'm sure there is a bunch for NAs too.

Nah, there is the National ESL, which is American, the European and the Asian.

Perhaps there is one for Oceania and South America, but I can't find it. Well probably they don't exist, simply due to the fact that it isn't that much profitable.

South America falls under NationalESL, Australia can play with NationalESL also, and probably in EU.

Thanks. Somebody who actually tells me something rather then insulting. -_- MMMM DENXI! lol

I'm stating facts. Facts are only insulting if you apply your own personal bias to them.

So it's not my fault that you're insulted, it's yours.

    You stated no facts.

    I did.

    (This should be good)

Trolling in respectable matter is not exactly how I would like to go forth with this conversation. Being rude in general can be taken as insult. Being disrespectful can be an insult. Honestly, your stating opinions. Which makes your "Facts" pointless. & what we call on Crossfire "Trolling".

Trolling is posting for the purpose of instigating an argument. Which I am not doing.

And I was not stating my opinion. Stupid is a term which can be applied to a lack of knowledge. In this situation you had a lack of knowledge. Therefore in this situation you were stupid.

    Fact, not opinion.
  • So tell me, that post was not instigating an argument? Brings us back to being rude and disrespectful. You just proved my case. "Trolling is posting for the purpose of instigating an argument." - If you wanted to state a fact, you could of just told me what it meant, not insult me. Very simple.

I'm blunt and I've seen a **** ton of stupidity on your end regarding various topics. I did NOT give you the information you needed to HOPEFULLY spark you to actually look **** up yourself. By doing this, a pattern may emerge, and you would become less stupid in all areas that you are currently "stupid" in.

Aka I was helping you by being vague. Not trolling. Understand that.

Regardless, I never troll, I speak my mind.

Stupid is not lack of knowledge. If used in the adjective form, it's dictionary results end up as:

    –adjective
    1.
lacking ordinary quickness and keenness of mind; dull.
    2.
characterized by or proceeding from mental dullness; foolish; senseless
    _

He may have lacked knowledge but it did not prove stupidity in this situation. He was not demonstrating a dullness, but rather a bit lax, lazier form of comment which we see all too often in forums. People come to the forums to discuss all forms of topics under the sun. It happens.

Due to the fact that the accusation was not FACT by definition it was opinion:

    –noun
    1.
a belief or judgment that rests on grounds insufficient to produce complete certainty.
    2.
a personal view, attitude, or appraisal.
    _

The grounds here would prove insufficient. Thus, insulting.

Except for the fact that I'm using a common misconstrued definition of stupid. Just as people use "gay" in the wrong sense, I purposefully used "stupid" in the wrong sense in order to convey my idea to someone I assumed would understand the common use of stupid in the CF community.

In this case, stupid DID mean "lack of knowledge". Just as, in many cases, "gay" means "bad". Are you saying then, that he HAD all the facts, he just acted otherwise? If so, then that was not part of my current reality, and he cannot expect a different train of thought than the one myself and dot/user had.

The technical definition of the word is irrelevant, the only definition that matters is the one conveyed using said word.

It seems as if I may frustrate you. If you had a problem with me, private message me and let me know. Just because you don't agree on my post or don't agree with what I'm saying, you don't have to be disrespectful. Especially, be immature about it. I'm done with this conversation on this thread because that is not the purpose of this thread. If you would like to continue this conversation via Private Message, be my guest.

If you do not wish to have off-topic conversations on your thread then do not initiate them there.

I already explained my reasoning, which you have yet to point a flaw in, so I will assume that you think it's correct and are just not willing to state as such. You may wish to look up the definition of immature, or change the word, because as such it does not fit (common definition and technical are the same in this community).

As you initiated the conversation, I honestly don't care whether or not it continues. Don't know why you would think I do, you respond without any attempt to accept or counter what I'm saying, there's obviously no point in trying to talk to you at this point.
  • I didn't know what something was. Didn't know that it was such a problem not to know something. I really didn't need to admit I did "Lack The Knowledge" of the term ESL because I wouldn't of the ask the question in the first place. The point I was attempting to get across to you is that if you have a problem with somebody, PM them. And if you don't have something nice to say, keep it to yourself. Very general character traits of being respectful. I've seen your post and you don't troll. I actually think a lot of what you say makes sense and you have very good responses to some of the suggestions and debates going on. So, I'm not trying to put you down but I really think calling me stupid was not needed and there are other ways to respond to any question in general. No such thing as a stupid question. Being lethargic to look it up is another story. Haha. :D

You admitting your lack of knowledge is not what I was referring to. I was referring to admitting a flawed reasoning for initiating conversation about my response.

    A) I already explained how this wasn't "having a problem with you." Please re-read my posts explaining my logic. Regardless, you are the one who initiated conversation by implying something that was false. I did not initiate anything, it was YOUR responsibility to PM me if you felt that this was off-topic.

    B) You have done nothing to earn my respect. I have already explained how, by being blunt, I was helping you. Please re-read my posts explaining my logic. If you find a FLAW in said logic, THEN come talk to me.

I never said your question was stupid. Again, re-read my post on my logic.

Again, I already stated my logic. Read the entire thread before you post. Facts are only insulting when you apply a personal bias to them. AS I ALREADY EXPLAINED, I was stating a fact.
  • Regardless if whether or not you were implying the word "Stupid" differently, it can still be taken away a different way, even if you did explain how you meant it. The first impression will always reflect on how somebody views you or something. Maybe if we were speaking to each other, I might of taken it differently. But this is the forums, and there is no voice communication, so you can't expect me to take something the way you meant it.
