[sG] EU Community? Suggestions?

It has been brought to Secular Gaming's attention that the European Community within Crossfire has been very interested in some type of events or leagues that can host events for them. The problem is, with Secular Gaming being mainly North American based and many of the Staff from the NA, we are not exactly familiar with the EU Community and what their needs are. What is that the EU Community wants? What are you looking for? Please keep the trolling to a minimum!!! We are really looking forward to seeing what you guys are interested in. Thank you guys for time and take care.

Examples:
5vs5 Tournaments?
1vs1 Tournaments?
Specific Weapon Events?

  • I do believe that EU has different issues than the NA. Things like language and interactions is difficult.
  • wouldn't even bother, ESL seems fine, WOGL-EU is pretty dead, they only have 1-2 matches per week.

the biggest problem about wogl-eu is the default time, a lot of the serious teams do want to play but the default time is for the most of them 10 or 11 pm. If you need to get up at 6 or 7 for work the next day you just don't play....
And alot of teams that didn't even know how to install the anti-cheat signed up -.-
  • hmm,the eu community has been dying for a while tbh. People just didn't bother practising,or turning up for games which has been really dissapointing. If i was in your shoes,i would have an opening EU tournament, see how it goes and then see how things look from there. If your AC is good (obviously needs to be) and just use the same rules as esl (v.fair rules) then I think there should be a good turn out. ESL is very active though,so don't be thinking that the whole continent is f*cked. Just wogl has been screwing around with this side, doesnt help that they don't give a f*ck about it though.

Weirdest excuse. Default time is the DEFAULT time. You can reschedule.

I'd advise against it tbh, ESL is going good because theres no real demand for activity beyond what the teams themselves want.
You'll end up as WOGL-EU with four decent teams playing, and a bunch of forfeits.

A quick tournament might work if we're talking no more than two weeks between initiation and execution.
Thats about as long as the teams last.

    what he said about dot^^

    +1
  • If there is gonna be any type of reward sure why not. If not, ESL is enough.

WOGL-EU has one to two games each week. I guess most teams dont even give a damn. I found two members of the lions team today in a pub and when people hackusated them they claimed they were playing wogl. Fact is, they are signed in wogl, but showing up in one out of four games doesnt make you any good.
  • How about nothing until you actually have an A/C? or is that "too competitive", hmm?

Air Condition isn't necessary! EUs don't cheat. Period!1
    OnTopic;
If you're EU, you might try, if you aren't - don't bother.
  • The EU doesn't know what they want.
One half will say they want Scar Light, the rest will say ban it.
The admins should decide on the fair rules, not the public when it comes to a league.
A new EU decent league would be great. It will inspire new teams, and teams to stay together. Or it will bring the worst in teams and make them fall appart. Can't have one without the other really.

Best way to go about a new league: Take what players like in ESL and WOGL, bring it together. See what can be done, arranged, nagotiated, compramised and make the most of it.
WOGL is good because it feels like a proper knock out tournament with a prize. ESL is more like play random ladder games to get AC pracitse. Drawback with a tournament is that 50% of the teams won't show up. 20% of that due to teams unable to make roster changes mid season. That showed in WOGL-EU, and will be tackled in the next season.
  • ESL is great already, it's fine. Thanks for you're support though.

Currently, we are going to have an Anti Cheat coming but that is why we haven't held any 5vs5 Ladder Tournament.
  • I would like a 5 vs 5 league with respectable rules

Banned guns: ALL ZP WEAPONS, XM8, M12s, SL, THOMPSON.

    BP WEAPONS ALLOWED PLS!

No armor, YES to TUNE-UP programmes!

Make it a world cut type league, really original. Different team different groups. Top 2 of one group will qualify to last 16, then knockout stages.

    Done.

Thanks. Thats nice to know. Great feedback. :D
  • I also would like to be CONTACTED about my games. EMAIL reminders of times.
Have like a set time of the day agreed by both teams. but in the group stages you have to complete all 5 games by a certain date otherwise you are disqualified.
  • Reasonable. Maybe we can create an auto email reminder or update for matches that will need to be played.
  • Yeah, because half the teams in ESL just SIGN UP. Dont actually play any matches.

youll do well if you copy esl and change the mistakes theyve made.

Is it free to join? And can i have a link to your website
  • I would sincerely put a lot of thought before considering an EU division. Take a look at the small success WOGL is having with the EU teams. It is not very favorable. They already have ESL, as well as WOGL-EU. With the upcoming release of ESL Wire for CF, I'm sure eligible EU teams will opt to favor ESL or WOGL-EU with Scrim Spot over smaller events/organizations.

You are stacking yourself up against an already crowded EU competitive scene (WOGL, ESL). Just take into account what is already here and what you might be trying to co-exist with. Listen to the community before actually deciding on such matters. Don't just automatically bring in an EU section just because everyone else is doing it. You have to weigh a lot of factors before making such decisions.
  • Polleus, i would rate my clan 8th or 9th in the EU.
The fact about ESL is, it has fail rules. But its the ONLY thing EU players have. Wogl eu i dont like the way it works, and its not free.

BP guns are just reskins of ZP guns. Can't categorize them like that. Why wouldn't you allow ZP guns, but allow BP which is only possible to get through ZP purchases?

I'm in WOGL EU and didn't pay a cent. ESL rules are perfect with exception of some GP item policies I don't agree with.
  • Na, your not allowed to run Gamebooster in ESL.
The ladder sucks, it just shows whose the most active.
BP guns are less modded. AK silver is not as powerful as AK scope

Pretty sure AK silver is stronger or equal to silver, but disregarding that; silver editions are just reskins of their ZP counterparts (AK camo/M4 advanced). ZP guns.
Can't allow one and ban the other.

While I don't agree with the gamebooster ban, its effect is easily simulated with the task manager and a registry file, supplied by ESL in the updated rules thread as I recall it. (if not, I'm sure someone who reads this have it)

Yeah sorry, thats what a ladder does.
  • I hate the sarcasm in your typing.

Also, i think m4 silver is not moaned about, whilst the m4 custom is.

    Balance is balance.

If you want balanced and fair rules, you can not allow BP weapons which require ZP to be purchased (to acquire BP points) and then say you want all ZP weapons banned. All of which require ZP to be purchased/acquired. You're contradicting your requests.
  • Wogls got the same rules though.

And when i say ZP weapons, im really just enforcing KRISS.
I should change that, to crate weapons.
  • I don't think that ESL rules are a fail tbh. 100% effective wall damage guns are forbidden, m12's and DSR's are forbidden and it doesn't allow ZP.

Well, if you're talking about GameBooster, I've been warned that that program may cause some conflitcs with CrossFire, including more host errors, more "Hack Tool Detected" and "CF_Error" issues.
  • UserK, for your info. The type 89 is banned g36k is now banned
Xm8 is unbanned. new rules for the new ladder

I wasn't "Jumping In". I was simply attempting to get suggestions. I never announced any type of event for the EU but I'm certainly looking into possibly hosting one. This post was made for suggestions. Not really a annoncement.
