Rock Music vs. Hiphop and "Modern" Rap (version 2)
IMPORTANT: IF YOU'RE ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE WHO POST BEFORE READING A THREAD OR YOU READ ALL THE WAY INTO THE MIDDLE THEN POST, PLEASE CONSIDER READING MY WHOLE THREAD.
I was a bit unsatisfied with my previous version of this thread, so why don't I make a better version of it.
I personally choose Rock Music over all the others.
Rock Music (refering to all type):
Its root genre is from Country Music, and parcially Jazz.
Rock Music includes REAL instruments played by people, a band (group of people = group of skills), and songs usually written by the band itself.
The style is usually adrenaline, it's good for stimulating your moods.
Usually, Rock Music is "badass".
Here are some samples of awesome band/musicians of Rock that's easily recognized.

Rock Music should of been more popular than today's mainstream crap IMO...
It's about adrenaline, no other genre of music play the guitar/ drums as fast, as awesome, as skillful as Rock.

Don't assume Rock Music abuse autotune like hiphop and modern rap... If a rock band performs on stage, they play instrument, and has someone singing (not to mention they had longer time of experience than Hiphop/ Modern Rap artists). They have an instrument to play, and most likely they don't need autotune/computer effects.
Although there might be Bands/ Vocalists using autotune... that is a very small fraction of all of Rock.
Now...
Hiphop:
Do you know what pollutes the air? consumes our resources? leaving Africa into poverty? and damaging baby's ears? hiphop music.
Some of hiphop are Rock Music posers (e.g. Bon3rs Brothers).
I'll be honest for now... Hiphop melodies don't sound bad... but heres the problem... The lyrics and skills are at a basic level... Although they prove superior to everyday people's singing skills... they seem like amateurs compare to all time good musicians.
They almost fully on computer effects (autotune) probably because the artist don't have the skills to do something else while singing.
What else? Corruption!! ( e.g. Justin Bieber)
IMPORTANT PART:
The music producers won't spend lots of money on decent and true skilled mucisians, therefore they'll buy someone cheap, less skilled, and visually attractive. They'll buy this cheap, less skilled, and attractive looking mucisian to make lots of money by cheating the audience. Since they can't just leave that unskilled mucisian singing badly when recording or on stage. They'll autotune it (when recording) and when they get the recording... the mucisian may skilllessly LIP SYNC on stage without much effort (lazy). This is pretty much what Justin Bieber is like.
Here's a list of things that are more UGLY..... more DISGUSTING...<removed>
1 - Justin B*tchber
2 - Miley Cyrus
3 - Bon3rs Brothers
4 - Lady Guyguy (even Celine Dion is better than her)
This music is disgraceful IMO
Old pop use to be as decent as Rock Music... MICHAEL JACKSON.
Modern Rap...
I don't dislike, all Rap...
Rap today mostly rely on Computer effects/ Autotune (90%) for the beats and melody.
Their vocal skills in Rap is sometimes greater than Rock Music's (that's because they're concentrated/dedicated on only singing)... but, they still choose to not play real instruments -.-"
Here's the only two artists I ACTUALLY think have true skills:
1 - Ludacris
2 - Eminem

Lol, JB's music isn't Hiphop it's RnB.
If you haven't noticed JB is the most hated kid in the freakin' world. It's because of the pre-****tly tween girls who make him so famous.
I agree with your hiphop artists though...M&M and Luda(under-rated rapper).
But how can you say Jay-Z is no good. He's not fake-he doesn't use any of that auto-tune gay shiz. His lyrics & metaphors are just as good as M&Ms (almost;)).
And it's alright dude if you haven't realised society and times change, at this time Hiphop is the in...Rock will come back. Dw about that.
EDIT: Do you even know the reason why artists lip sync on stage?...Let me wrap it up for you in a nice few short sentences. Artists who are multi-talented(sing and dance) use lip sync when they perform on stage, specifically to give their audience better entertainment-dancing. Singing and dancing is pretty hard to do at the same time if you ask me. -
I been ROCKIN' siince the day I was born! And I'm a 60's child, born 61... Now I am old skool Rock. floyd, Zep onto The Stranglers and Zappa. But I do appreciate a lot more genres of music. I am a die-hard listener to real poetry from Dylan to marshall, I see it all as original poetry- you call it folk or Rap. But I dont see any real under-rated rappers mentioned. Immortal Technique & Ill Bill to name a few in my own opinion.

are you saying that being able to put hot ass beats together or rhyme all day long and not make an ass of yourself isn't real skill? because last i checked, not everybody can make beats or rap. im pretty sure playing instruments are easier than making beats with technology.

How about when Kieth Moon (R.I.P) drove his Rolls Royce into the swimming pool of his Mansion... U kids r sooooo lame.. I love Rap too, but dont even try to talk money, it shows ur shallow depth of perception and also ur age. Makes it seem u dont hear the poetry in music, just see the glint of shiny things & thats ur goal:( I say no more now...Wow, rappers are so rich. I love to find interesting things everyday. Now what can you tell us about rock music artists? Do they have expensive things like rappers do? -

wow this is a very dead topic, but if i may...
While i agree with much of what you say about the state of rap, these days, you have also spoken about much you know nothing about.
For instance, i agree that autotune is gay, and has no right being used to make the t-pain effect, unfortunately for you, most Rockers also use autotune to touch up their voices, and the reason i know that? well, 16 years in the recording industry teaches you a lot. Autotune is a program that can be added during or post recording to ones voice in order to correct pitch, thus making it smooth and sound like really good singing-even if it started as just "ok" singing, the t-pain effect is tweaking it and essentially re-modding the vocal sound so its over compensated creating a synth type voice, like what you would make on a Micro Korg with the VOX Synth.
but let me not bore you with tech specs, You say there is no adrenaline in hip hop, but you also state that adrenaline is a rock quality, i agree..however despite the laid back feeling (lazy...i think you called it) you wouldn't want a sax player on stage headbanging with miles davis would you? Different Genres require different atmospheres, imagine Beethoven crowd surfing...lol simply put, it wouldnt happen.
I thought I saw something about rappers lip syncing at performances, you should know that part of mixing audio down, (which is all digital these days, no matter the genre) is creating multiple tracks of different sound layers, there can be infinite tracks of vocals overlayed on top of eachother to create an effect, and in live performances, you're generally hearing a lot of those pre-recorded extra layers with the artists live voice.
And finally my last point, I don't care what preference you have in music, I love every type of music i can work with, if it's hip hop, cool. if its rock, cool. different people like different things, but don't pretend to know something about the facts of hip hop/rock when clearly you're stating an opinion.

Pharcyde (probably too old for most people on here but worth a look)
Lozt Boyz (East Coast in the early 90's)
and way more than i could ever list in a forum...the point is, facts are facts, and opinions are statements that want to be facts...get them right please.
