[SG] Suggestion - WHAT DO YOU WANT?

Secular Gaming is very glad to see many of you guys participating in the 1vs1 Tournament. A lot of things have been going well and the amount of people that have signed up was unexpected and astonishing. It's great to see many of you participating.
After the 1vs1 tournament, we, Secular Gaming, do plan to move forward with the Crossfire Community and become actively involved. The thing is, so many other people have attempted to work with the community, and have failed. We do not have any intentions in failing what so ever. A lot of people focus more on themselves and their organization, rather then focusing on the more important part they should be. Which is, you, the community.
Secular Gaming would like to know what you want and what your looking for in an Organization/League. If we have a better understanding on what you want, we can better help build our organization to your needs, not ours or anybody else. JUST YOU! We are looking for some positive feedback. This includes what you want and what you don't want. Looking forward to reading your comments. Please be respectful and remember to keep the trolling to a minimum. Thank you!

Just want it to be organized well.

Well we can do that but we need to know what you want from us. Prizes, events, tournaments, website, etc. The community is what makes these organization's and leagues. It's better to start off knowing what you want rather then just guessing.
  • I, as one of the users in particular would like to take the time to thank you. You display courtesy and an aire of honesty and concern for your members. I absolutely love seeing tournaments and events up! I couldn't be more excited to join them. Prizes are nice, but playing for props is the best.

    1v1s
    2v2s
    5v5s
    8v8s

These are a few of the proposed sizes for tournaments or leagues hosted. Ones and Twos relying on great teamwork or more personal skill/effort. Fives for standard teams and eights for completely letting loose with a full rooms of crazy team battles.

As far as prizes DO go, it's usually best to stick with computer accessories or Z Points of course!

    Keyboards
    Mouses
    Headsets
    Ultimate Gamer Cards
    External Hard Drives
    Flash Drives
    Secular Gaming T-Shirt and/or Hoody!
    Secular Gaming Hat
    Game Informer Subscriptions
Console (360, PS3, Nintendo DS, PSP, etc.)
    Ram Sticks (DDR2/3)
    Computer Monitor
    Gift cards (Walmart, Bestbuy, Radioshack)
    Secular Gaming Lanyard
Dog Tags (Custom with your gamer tag)

Hey! Who knows? In any case, this was I all could think of. Obviously anything substantial would be for larger tournaments top prizes whilst cheaper would be for small events or runner-ups.
  • Idk if this is only organized by Americans for Americans but i would like EU tournament o.o And well it must be good organized with mature people organizing it.

Thank you very much. That is nice to know. We do plan to give Headphones & A mouse/Keyboard Combo. Gaming of course. We are looking to work with the community as well as we possibly can. It's good to know how we can improve our organization along with work with the community a little better.

I do hope we get involved with EU, but atm, staff is short with European Moderators. Again, I do not want to rush into to things I cannot be prepared for. I will probably do some European events in the summer.
  • lol can you like have a tournament where everyone who joins can play? I was really disapointed when it turned out I couldn't play :(
  • David if you give away a secular gaming hoody, i'll marry you (:

I'm sorry but we could only take 60 people and a lot of people were still signing up after the tournament was over. If we host another one, we will take as many people that sign up. Good to know though. It's nice to see so many people willing to participate in these community events.

Haha. Merchandise comes a long way. If I can get the community to build up, then I will think about selling T-Shirts, Sweatshirts, etc.

Not at this moment. I have sponsorships in my head but I need to direct some traffic to the website. That helps build your potential for obtaining one.

Never heard of it. Well I've been pubbing lately too. I think I might attempt to become a Forum Moderator. I love the forums now and I'm a community person. I'll probably apply.

Well if you post on the Support section, they can possibly help you. Re downloading Crossfire may solve your problem. Also, run Crossfire as an Administrator and maybe your computer can process it. I'm not exactly sure but I think the Moderators can help you with that one. Sorry I can't be as much of a help.
  • Don't even talk about the prizes focus on the basics. What do you really want a league to be?
First off, your league has to be organized with an on going edited website and daily posts and updates by moderators of the tournament. If you are starting a 5v5 league (which I hope someone does because wogl sucks tbh, my opinion don't rage) set up a strong standard of rules and don't bend them even if you know the clan/person closely. Also, get a good acs and if your live broadcasting find a good caster and program. Don't show favoritism if a subject opens up about something. Review it and pick the best option. Support tickets are good, but if you can't respond to be support ticket earlier than 2 days than don't even put that function in because that's a really unrelliable source of communication. Use some roster/league rules from other main tournaments from other fps games. Such rules should be like, don't lock the roster after preseason, allow more guns that don't really give an advantage. Ex. awm camo and awm christmas/red dragon all the same same bullets. I have some other suggestions also, but these are the main ideas I believe

Completely agree with you. Especially with the support. I told the Moderators that I have atm. If this builds, the first thing that I will make clear to all of them is that you do not tell somebody to send in a "Support Ticket" If somebody needs help, you deal with it then and now. Not when you feel like it or when it's convenient to you. More then half the time, when you need support, you need it done quickly. Not in 3-5 Days. Their not asking for me to ship anything to you. It's simply answering questions.
  • k that's good looking forward to a good 5v5 league if you can get one started.
  • In time possibly. Still have to work out AC and many other important aspects of a league. Financially and mentally :D

Common mistake, their should be they're. They're is a contraction of the words "they're." You seem to mistake them a lot, 's why I bring it up.

You just got grammar owned, Julian.

Anywho! Take your time when forming the leagues. Find the community's interests and apply. I'm saying all of this, but I'm sure you already know. My point was, don't cause yourself a headache over every issue that may arise. You're currently lacking in many advanced sections, but we don't expect you to have it all since you haven't had the funding or staff to form it.

Take your time, enjoy yourself. We look forward to seeing what you create.
