Simplifying the Reporting Process or DMCAs

I have sitting on my harddrive a bunch of replays with a bunch of baddies. I thought to myself...ok I'm going to go report....then I realized HOW MUCH YOU HAVE TO DO TO REPORT SOMEONE...it's sickening to the point that I rather just quit CF versus having to go through such a long process. I know this is a free game and all and the company doesn't think much of it's players because either way some kid will buy ZP and support them but is there ANY way the reporting process can be simplified.


And has Z8 ever though of using a DMCA against sites that create hacks for this game. I know it's what Nexon did for one of it's games....(not CA).

Half an hour? It takes me about 1 minute to report someone. Upload the replay, PM the link to [gm]Saidin with the hackers name and details about the hack.

In any case I'm trying to get the GMs to install an addon to vbulletin that would allow you to upload a replay and screenshot from the new PM screen.

30 minutes is a bit extreme, maybe 5 minutes.

But he is right, the reporting system should be better, since I'm sure there are a few people out there who would not understand how...... Lets face it there are people like that in crossfire.

That's a good idea.
But using the DMCA against hacker sites will never be considered by this particular company I suppose.

Is it true they don't ban people who buy alot of ZP even if they are hacking?

The DMCA is way beyond discussion on these forums. It's a legal matter involving things that can't be discussed on these forums by us (the company).

As for the reporting process, while 30 minutes is extreme we are aware that this process isn't the most efficient.

We are going to be looking at ways to improve this process (potentially by adding an add on to vbulletin). Or other ways. Look for a streamlined version of the "hacker report how-to" thread coming soon. It will be an attempt by us to try and make sure you spend the least amount of time reporting a hacker.

^^ Not saying the company had to discuss it(DMCA), it was indeed a suggestion.
I think the process only gets time consuming when you have to report so many people, it's to the point where you just say fk it and rage quit.

And I meant to post this entire topic in the Cross Fire forums,...lol fail.

The first two reports I've sent in when I was still a newbie were responded to, but the more recent ones aren't. (Yes, even with the people flying around the map and spawnkilling with a knife) After so many, I just gave up. It'd be nice to have at least an automated response, saying that the report has at least been looked at, or the player is already banned.

For the system itself, I agree it could be much easier. I'm also unsure as to why Z8 (or Suba) don't IP ban, but that's not on topic I suppose.. In any case, I can only hope they simplify/speed up the process.

Saidin, think you can let us know what percentage of reports are false?
