Why ?

When im trying to play crossfire my computer starts lag. It uses %100 of CPU . What shuld i do. My friend dont have this problem. Some of my problems have worst computers then me .
System : AMD Athlon (tm) 64 x2 dual
Core processor 5400+
2.80 ghz 2.00 gb ram
windows xp
