Regular users currently can have a standard twitter message (140 characters) for a signature. Only GMs and Mods can have images in their sigs at the moment.

Basic BB code is allowed however images and advanced code is not.

Signature features is something we're intending on implementing when we bring back the reputation (karma from the old boards). When that happens players can earn rep by helping out or contributing intelligently in discussion. And the more rep you have the more board functions will open up.
