Why This Forum Drives Me Nuts.
I have been waiting all day for a response to my technical support thread.

Not from some kid telling me to re-install, seeing as I have made it clear in the thread itself I have tried this.
I wanted a GM's opinion on the situation, or at least a link to another thread explaining how to fix it or why it is happening.
Wondering if this part of the forum is even viewed by MODs or GMs, I started to look through the rest of the threads, and noticed the only ones that could possibly spark the attention of a MOD or GM would be to use vulgar language or ask a very broad question that could be asking how to get hacks just as much as asking for CrossFire support.
MODs show up, post a "whitty" comment on how someone is breaking the rules or giving the link to support, and close the thread.
But are these the only threads they are aloud to post in? Any response at all would have been appreciated. But I guess the attention-wh0re side of the community is more worthy of their thread closing than some one asking a sincere question in the correct forum section about a relevant topic.
If I knew better, I would have stopped coming to this forum a while ago. I'm done now.

No GM or MOD has time to go to every single thread and do something. Forumers try to help out as well. GM's have actual jobs, actual work in their office, Saidin is lucky to even get time to make an Urban Warfare issue. And as for MODs, we have lifes too, and you can't expect us to be ontop of everything. We try to read as many threads as we can, but we don't always respond, because to respond to every thread on these forums would take 7439489309 hours. And sometimes, language has to be let go, people sometimes need to vent, and we understand that. But you also don't see if we infract or warn for it, so really, you can't go into that.
Just cause it wasn't deleted/responded to, doesn't mean it was taken care of.

Also going into that, you don't see all the work we do do. Trust me, there's tons and tons of posts / threads we delete, and alot before it's even looked at by to many people. You can say we don't do much, because of what you see, but seeing isn't all, No one can see everything.

My point was that most of these threads don't raise any real questions, concerns, community happenings, or technical info.
The threads that usually veer off topic are the ones that most people seem to pay attention to.
And as for Technical Support section, why is it even there if topics of actual concern go un noticed, or shrugged off? Sending in a support ticket only helps a single person, and not the rest of a particular group with the same problem.

Do a system restore to the last time it was working. If it is an xtrap bug, a program on your computer is interfering. Do you have a content blocking program/3rd party internet filter?I have restored my computer so many times I have lost count,

when you re installed was it from a clean new setup or the same evre times?
but the fact its HGWC that's having the error ( i think so) seem it migth be due with the new anti hack system z8 implemented. what im guessing is its unable to automatically update, skipping it, and then failing due to the program noticing you don't have the right version.
( i always wondered, what exactly is HGWC anyway? from xtrap or z8?) -

ON-TOPIC: Have you even tried completely wiping CF off of your computer? Then reinstalling it.
That usually reset ALL of my killbadges and UI. Maybe it could do the same for REZ files.
Other then that, You do have some program thats not allowing your Rez17 to work properly. So if my first suggestion doesn't work then why don't you try Reformatting your computer.
A lot of work but at least it gives you back your outta the box state again. -

Just because we are MODs doesn't mean we know everything. Tech Support can be a tricky thing, and we don't "work" for G4Box, so we won't know all the information. Nor do GMs always know. People like Greycloak who has gone and got certified for things, know this kind of stuff, then also people like DeadEye who work with computers. Some of us, don't have that kind of knowledge to help out.
As to Crow, Some threads are spam, and as we delete MANY a day, sometimes we just let some go, because we have lifes too. When we have a definite answer to a question, we try to sticky it, or put it all on one thread, so it's easy to find. But some people just post without reading, and that's another reason for less posts by us. There are stickies that give out much information that go into a lot of detail. -

Tech support is still a dead forum. I posted an issue in tech support (bumping it), and later in Barracks. TS got 0 replies, Barracks got over 10.
As a solution to get some feedback, I see posting in Barracks as a good alternative. Half the threads here are rubbish anyway. -

I have searched the word "Crossfire" and deleted about 25 files or folders, so yes everything was gone before reinstalling.
Not a registry problem.Hehee, you said do-do.... XD Immature moment.

I never said I needed a definite answer though. Quite the opposite actually.
I see as many as 20 new threads a day in each section, excluding Barracks which is flooded.
In these threads, most of them ARE infact spam, but going into the 2 or 3 actually asking something worth answering isn't that big of a deal. In an hour, which I'm sure most MODs spend less time than that, I read through most, if not all, of the top threads in most sections in the forum, spam or not.
ANYWAY, what I was seriously looking for in my thread in Tech Support was a link or brief solution to the problem. Having this problem since X-Trap came out, I expected more than just myself to have this problem.
