THIS JUST IN: an update to my ping spikes!

hello fellow forumers, i have made a breaking discovery on my troublesome ping spikes!


the past few days, ive been getting a message after a great amount of ping spikes.

the only important part of the message is..

"nv4 driver has stopped working normally" so, can anyone tell me what that means =p? it happens during a match, while im recieving my normal pingspikes, which come every 10 seconds (or so it seems..) it also comes when i blackscreen (which is after/during my ping spike)

something is telling me it has to do with my graphics card (nv/nvidia.. i dont know, im not good at this stuff..) which is what i think is the problem.


NOTE:i am running a nvidia geforce 5200, which to my knowledge (very little knowledge) is not good enough. but i was also told that has nothing to do with my ping.

SECONDNOTE:my internet connection is always running fine before, and after i play, and my normal ping is around 45.

Actually, i would have to assume its your motherboard thats crapping out rather then the graphical driver. A possible problem could have to do with the chipset in relaying the information from the onboard NIC parts to the cpu and back.

Long story short, if your lucky you could be able to fix it for free or for cheap.

Option 1) update drivers
Option 2) buy an NIC card
Option 3) buy a new motherboard.

So lets start with one! do you know the make and model of your motherboard?

kinda weird, downloaded it right before i read what you just posted, anyways im into the motherboard section, and it has a ton of stuff.

would it be DMI, dell4600i?

I hope for you you got someone working in IT. Otherwise you'll be smashing the motherboard against the wall of frustration cuz it doesn't fit in your case xD

um, well i do know a few people that are good with computers.


and to delaco if/when you read this: i downloaded something from that everest program that tells me what drivers i need to update, do i have to buy these drivers, because its asking to to buy something.
