Minimods=Killgod (Before he went left), Ddott, Rarely Hi, Us3rK?, Me (Before i went left)Mini mod's seriously annoy me tbh >.>
Or else a mod that's really picky / biased (no names >.> )
Also, the Declariation of Human Rights isn't a law. Therefore doesn't have to be obeyed =P More like a set of guidelines i think??
Also,i think that the trolling side of this game won't change. Its a f2p game, getting all the ''kids'',especially from the hated countries (turkey / brasil). Unless everything gets evened up,and most people in this game actually grow up i think that the trash talk and nonsense that goes on will never stop. I think that the bit of trash talking is good before a tournament match,to add more tension and hype - but besides that I find it mostly pathethic if someone judges a player from a randy pub / pug / scrim and goes on for months saying how horrible he is etc. -
I will use an old saying and apply it to this community.
This community, comprised of all its individual users, must "learn to walk before it can run". Step by step is the only way we can do it. The important part is to actually take those steps. As bad as this community seems to a lot of you, it can be influenced and made right. All it takes is time, patience, and a little hard work.
Such things a loser like me is willing to do
and like I said before I encourage others to assist me in that.
but of course.
people should be glad someone here is trying to make a difference for the better, not tarnish the one chance they have of making this community, dare i say, good. -
Under the Human Rights Law; Article 19 of the universal declaration of human rights.
You can not censor or put limitations on what someone want's to say.
And yes it is a law.
On private property, which a website is considered, the Terms of Use govern such rights within that website. You have to conduct yourself within those Terms of Use and that includes what you can and can not say. -

I can only do so much. I'm hoping others will see that there is a chance for this community and want to help as well. -

I enjoy helping more than I enjoy mini-modding people.
I mini-mod when it's outstanding, such as hackusations
Other than that, I XFire Googletron and make him deal with it. -
Ok, so part 2.
First up. Freedom of Speech.
You have the right to say what you want to say in a public venue. These forums however are not a public venue.
Technically by being on our forums you only have the rights with which our rules dictate you have. IE nothing unless we allow it. Sounds harsh but it is the dead on truth.
These forums are a private part of the internet, you agree to our rules when you sign up for an account and thus give over all rights to "say what you want" at that point.
Without saying more there is a GREAT read which often gets thrown around when this comes up here:
http://wow.joystiq.com/2009/12/14/why-you-dont-have-freedom-of-speech-in-wow/
There is a great line at the end though:Now it's in Blizzard's best interest not to go power happy and ban whomever they feel like without any reason. And it's in our best interest to allow dissent within our comments, even against our own articles.
There are grey areas around forum modding and closing etc. In my complete opinion it takes personal talent to know when to close a thread, when to delete it, when to respond, to ban etc. It's a constant learning process and it's never going to be perfect. But it's not in our best interests to be completely strict. We have to deal with some dumb stuff as a result, but overall as a growth potential sometimes being a.. you know what.. is going to result in a negative impact for a larger amount of people.
That being said, things can get out of control as well. Especially when there is no inherent respect level for the efforts or the people running this place (or moderating it). We are never adverse to adding more help, however there has to be a fine line drawn. Stuff like "how close is too close" between a moderator and the company. Information sharing. ETC ETC all get more difficult with larger crowds. Control is the theme and its more difficult in all aspects the larger the group. Case in point, controlling these forums.
As for letting the moderators do their job. Yes please let them do that. Rarely does a mod break a rule. Yes, they might act out of order, mostly out of frustration. And yes, that doesn't look professional, and yes they get talkings to all the time. We (the GMs) are not blind, we know whats up.
But if a mod is doing a good job, one rude comment isn't going to get them fired. Because we'd lose the work we've put in to making them a good moderator.
Anyways, dunno if that last stuff about mods is relevant. If a mod reads this, don't think you can be rude or break the rules and get away with it! You'll still have to answer to the boss!
