That is impossible. You, as a client, cannot change what port(s) the daemon listens on.

And even if you could, it would do nothing to reduce your ping.

"Opening" your ports to connect to crossfire's servers is also useless, as you are doing exactly that - connecting to the server. You're not the server (the host of the connection) and thus you don't need to open your ports. See my post here.
