Flawed Kicking System

The kicking system does get rid of cheaters who interfere with gameplayand people who are idle, but it is also abused to get rid of regular players for reasons other than "Illegal Program/Idle/etc.." In almost every Search N Destroy and Ghost Mode room, someone gets kicked for being too good, too bad, or "hacking" (in the accuser's view, this is killing a camper, getting a multikill, or getting a KDR above 1.0).

If the voting system was meant to include "too good" in the "etc." reason, then it should be removed from the veteran servers. However, people rarely look at the reason chosen anyway and will just press F11/F12 depending on whether they want the person voted to be kicked, irregardless of what reason was chosen. To prevent this abuse, there should be no vote-kicking system in the veteran servers. In these servers, someone who complains and keeps whining can't do anything to force the accused hacker to leave (other than to save the replay and take a screenshot to report the player). He/she can only leave to an "easier" server because he/she clearly doesn't belong in the veteran servers spamming "(noob) hacker", "f11", "kick now".

  • Eh...

Eh... the bigger problem is people who DON'T vote and it get counts as a f12, it should count as a undecided vote, meaning its not a f11 or an f12, but yeah, if your too good in a pub, you will be kicked. Thats why if im in a pub, i make sure to have a few friends who are sure to press f12 for me :). Try joining a pug or a scrim clan, you cant get kicked there. (unless your hacking, in the pugs that is, but typicallly, they'll ask you to run growler if your fishy.)
  • I couldn't agree with you more. I have been a player for quite some time and while I am now good, you can see by kdr overall that it took me a long time to get there. However you still get people that call hack all of the time.

One suggestion we've kicked around our clan as far as a better system would be:
    1. to have the host have the ability to kick.
    2. remove the penalty for leaving a room no one much cares anyway but remove it that way if a hacker is the one hosting the room, you can go without the hit to your "honor"
    3. when kicked from a room, still have the option to save a replay so that if a hacker is the room host you can still report him for his cheating.

There are inherent problems with the system but it also gives people the option to go into rooms of hosts they know and somewhat trust at least. Sooner or later hackers won't be able to stay in rooms they didn't make and no one will join the rooms they did.

That's the best we've come up with so far.
  • There's not much you can do about people who don't vote. It would be assumed they disagree and don't care about the accused hacker. I have seen aimbotters not getting kicked, and the only thing to do is report them. The lack of vote-kicking system will encourage more reports.

You can already do #3 by changing the TempReplay. #1 has been done in another game, but the problem would be a hacker host.
  • kicking system is great
we just need to remove the penalty(removing gp/exp) and we'll all be happy

i freakin hate the kick system. i get kicked at least half the games i join. I absolutely love your idea of vet server withought kick system, and i hope it gets approved..... and btw, i havent played with a legit hacker since CF got the X-trap program.

    indeed

Live by the sword and die by the sword with the kick system. While x-trap is amazing, the few times that the hack developers find a way around the system, the kicking ability gives the users some way to fight back. Sure it's not perfect, but it's better then having those days where every other room has a hacker and they can rack up kills.
  • Server

They should make a server for Second Lieutenant or higher, haha. :D

    Bamp for great justice !
  • Goddamnit, I guess I have to come bump this **** again. I can't get through one round without being kicked by idiots.
  • I get kicked again by a game full of complete nubs, can't play one damn round AND I'm drunk so that's just pathetic. These all deserved to get bumped again and if anyone has anything negative to say about it: **** you. Enjoy.
  • Like all Spanishspeaking clans, UnionLatina has the same secret weapon: Vote Kick.

Sure it gives people that are intelligent and with a sense of decency a way to 'fight back', however the system is being used by all people.

Having the current kick system in place is like handing knives out at Asylums, the result is that you end up with a load of nutters with the ability to 'fight back' at real or imagined threats or the ability to 'fight back' against good players (no gun needed) by getting them booted.
