QUESTION: How important is the *right* Mouse?

When I first got serious with gaming I used this compaq wireless mouse:

Exact same model, it is lighter than the logitech G5 without weights! I also use it as a generic AAA battery charger. After a few years I broke the left click button, and opened the mouse and replaced the clicking mechanism (took a generic ball mouse click.er and transferred it).
After I broke the left click button again a few years later I switched to the LogitechG5. Disappointed by the heavier weight but it had larger mouse feet. I start out with weights and lowered sensitivity. As my wrist gets more tired, I take out the weights and raise sensitivity. After 10 hours of straight gaming my wrist is still OK... I have since replaced the mouse feet on my G5 once.
Laser is strong enough for no mouse pad. I use the whole desk to turn 180 in game. -
An expensive mouse is not at all necessary to be good at Crossfire just two cheap speakers and the mouse that came with the computer is enough to own with. If you have the money to spend, a good new mouse can't hurt you, but if the one you have is working fine just stick with that.

You SHOULD NOT be buying high quality gear "just for crossfire"
Just thought I'd throw that out there before kids start pestering mommy for an $80 Razer. -

Yeap yeap. You can play crossfire fine with a regular $20 mouse and be pretty good, but if you plan on playing better games like MW2 and others, and competitive play on those games then you should consider on switching to a more higher gaming mouse like razers. -
Maybe if i bought an uber Keyboard i would get perhap over 4.0 overall kdr?

Nah i dont think lol...
Mouse is most important, its like doing your man thing, if its small and horrible your not gonna want to play with it...if its big nice and sweet, your gonna want to play with it hours on end and be better at it

MODERN WARFARE? lol, CoD isn´t a Game where good aim is too neccesary. You just have to play clever. Aiming in CF is way more important.Yeap yeap. In my first match at Cod MW ever I went 20-7, in CF my first game was about 14-15...
MW really doesn´t take much skill... -
Lol I went for some crazy gaming mouse b4 and it almost made me puke it was so sensitive.. Made it hard to aim for heads or anything cuz if I breathed on it it would move a inch over lol... So I like the 1000dpi... Fast but no blindingly fast... And wired isn't better for gaming just depends on what you like... I got a wireless Dynex 5 button mouse... Has 2 buttons on the side for back/foreword on the internet. But I use them for crouch and slow walk in cf lol... Anyways awesome mouse, was olny like 50$ or so and its got my fav dpi setting:) And I personally cant play with a wired mouse.. Wires gets in my way so much and I get so mad lol.

My old mouse was 600dpi, this Razer goes up to 4000 (only use 2000)
The size and the weight are perfect, I have rather large hands so I can just palm the whole mouse, instead of mostly using my fingertips like I did with the MS.
Fact: High sensitivity gamers are inconsitent.
At 2000 dpi, with default windows, even at 0 sens in game that is a VERY high sensitivity.
I have a g500(newest from logitech) and it goes up to 5700. I play on 400 dpi, default windows and 43 in game. High dpi doesnt give you more control, and control and comfort is what a mouse is all about.
