Does anyone know any gaming screen recorder that is better than fraps?

well if you dont like fraps you have 2 options

Are you sure it's set to require at the highest quality?

Fraps is the best out of the 3 that have been stated so far. Not sure about the other screen capture tools out there.

Growler records at amazing quality the way I have it set up, but I wouldn't use it to record yourself fragging, only spectating people/replays. Talk to me on xfire, I'll let you know.

1280x800 @ 30FPS
DivX/Xvid codec mix.
Turn up brightness and best quality of colors and textures in-game. Not too bright.
Fast Compression 2, High Compression isn't all that bad when set to 100, but it lags much more.
Direct X.

Play around with Growler, it's one of the best.

Growler's the way to go.

Growler - Less lagg, but poor quality
Fraps - More lagg on slow computers, but better quality
Xfire - Laggs but will work

no im using full version,
and everytime i reaches about 3. something gb it splits the file. which is annoying. and yesterday i was recording for a while and then all of a sudden i got error. was thinking it was a normal cf crash but no, i got it cuz of low disk space. fraps filled up like 100GB of my disk space. and the video wasn't even 30 min long. im recording at 1200*800 with sound at 60fps.
1.5m of video = 3GB.
