rival factions and mercenary forces corporation?

hey,
can anyone just clear this up for me:
is the rival factions of crossfire just a new version, a seperate game, or a temporary feature for a contest?

whats the difference between mercenary forces corporation and rival factions? should i get both, which is best?

Join the faction. Then play their maps.

search a clan called global risk or black list and join then play the faction maps

and no it wont take you out of the clan your in atm

the rival factions is just an event, u can join either global risk clan or black list(won the last mission)
