Hey,

I dont know where to post this so tell me if i should repost in a different forum!
how do you modify the kill marks/kill sounds? Is this even allowed?

Bored of the standard ones :P haha also can you modify the UI?

Yeah i did and i also googled it.. So maybe i just fail? Haha also i meant GUI sorry

To modify KM's I just open them up with paint.net, save as .tga and replace the file with the same name.

Find your crossfire folder and ta-da.

Same goes for sounds & it is very much allowed.

For me it's C:>Program Files>Subagames>Crossfire>Crossfire>Rez>UI> Open up Marks
Otherwise Rez>Snd2>English> Pick/move/delete, whatever.

and remember for sounds they need to be wav not mp3 cuz i made that mistake before lol

can someone put up a tutorial on how to do this like a video or something cuz that would really help i tryed and when i got a head shot it showed a white box so i want to know plz post

Make sure you're saving your files as .TGA AND I suggest using a program that allows transparency. Otherwise your image will have a white box surrounding.

I use Paint.NET it's free and it has great user-made plug-ins. Paint.net will also allow you to save as .tga. All you have to do is use the magic wand's selection to remove white surroundings.

A perfect example would be my forum avatar.

Also, be sure to back up the original kill marks in case you want to use them in the future again.

It's really easy to do tho but i don't do much art. You can go to computer/documents/program/z8games/crossfire/rez/ui
and its all there. Just edit it
