Screenshot this page, and use the colour dropper tool thing to find out the RGB value of the background of the avatar space for these forums. Use this colour as background of your avatar (bottom layer of your PhotoShop file).

EDIT: Well, I'll give you the value. RGB: 48,48,48. Top few pixels are actually 47,47,47. You could do it perfect, but the change won't be visible.
