Real Noobish Question

Sorry all, i'm sure this has been asked a million and one times before but i was hoping for a little advice....

Found this game yesterday, not normally a fps player... in fact haven't really ever played any fps games, but have taken a liking to this.

Anyhow, obviously still very noobish, but was looking in the item mall for a new gun, since that seems to be all the rage.

First question (as i have absolutely no knowledge of guns etc.) do i need a new gun? I have the stock gun m16 i think. Will this surfice, or should i invest some of the 55k GP i have got so far into a new gun? And if so which do i go for? I realise they probably all have different traits etc. and have done some reading round this forum, but most talk seems to be about more advanced configurations, not so much about a real beginners setup.

Also intertesed to know if i should invest in a handgun, and if so which would people recomened?

Ok, for begginers, i would reccomend the M4A1, High accuracy, good damage and not too much recoil. Or you could go with the cheaper choice, and the all over easier choice and get a MP5. For pistols, i would reccomend a Desert Eagle or a P228. IMO I would invest in a M4A1 and a Desert eagle, but it's up to you what you do with your GP!

The M4A1 is a great place to start for beginners and will most likely stay with you for a long time to come. If you would rather try it out first, you can buy the X-Mas version for 7 days pretty cheap. As far as a hand gun, if you're not ready to shell out for a Desert Eagle, the P228 is serviceable. Otherwise, go for the Desert Eagle when you hit the required rank.

Xmas edition sounds like a good shout... give it a run before commiting to it. But sounds like most are pointing at the M4A1. I'll hang fire on a hand gun for the moment and get an eagle when i get to the right rank.

a low rank should def get m4a1, when you are higher rank u would recommend either type, scarl, or xm8. unless of course u want a sniper and def get a secondary wep

I'd go with buying an M4A1. Low recoil, fairly good damage, and good accuracy.

M4A1 since it's not that different to the M16.

Handgun is either D-eagle or Anaconda. Both are good, but it seems you need more skill with the Anaconda.

For beginners defiantly m4. good power, really good accuracy, and fairly decent recoil. For a handgun I would suggest p228, or deagle if you wanna spend the cash

I would use the M16 until you're SSGT, then get an AK if you're just starting FPS games. The reason is, you'll be so accustomed to high recoil that when you pick up something tame like the M4, you'll be godlike.

Since you are using a m16, I would recommend you try the limited amount of guns the players have in rookie channel. If you decide one before, great buy it. If you still haven't chosen a rifle by the time you get kicked out, either go into some TDM and pick up other people's guns and choose, or buy an m4a1. I would recommend the first one because I've made plenty of accounts because I couldn't decide on a gun and kept buying bad ones.
I, personally, recommend the K2 over the m4a1, but that is just me.
Buy a desert eagle or p228 for a secondary. I wouldn't recommend anaconda just yet (unless your born pro)

Elimination and S&D formats boast the highest GP Rates. Elimination will save you money as your not using your actual gun, so the damage reduces much slower. Something like Alaska will also get you accustomed to other higher ranked guns as you get to pick up random guns from the respawn.

On a side note, If I may suggest configuring your keys to your liking as well; Crouch, Walk, Throw Weapon, etc.. (i.e. I have my crouch (Shift), walk (caps lock), throw weapon (F). Everything is in a neat little area for your fingers. And I utilize the center wheel on my mouse to rotate weapons the fastest, by scrolling up or down)

M4 all the way.
Mp5 if you like to spray or else k2 isnt too bad a gun either.

Pistols:
Desert Eagle or p228 fo shizzle.

Yes M4A1 is realy a good weapon for beginers,but most of beginers(If not all)spray with their weapon...So!I would sugest to buy K-2!It's a realy good weapon.Power is fine and the best thing is:it has a realy low recoil,so you can spray and be very acurate!For a pistol i rekomend Desert eagle...Others have low firepower,and you can't be so acurate to aim for head,cuz you are a beginer...

m4 is an m16 with a straight barrel & nicer looks.
oh and higher firing speed (doesnt feel so sticky).
