well, since today, my fps has gone from 80 to about 4.2

im not lagging because ive checked my ping and itwas working perfect yesterday, so what could be wrong?

Were you running any programs that you don't run normally when playing CF?

im using gamebooster, ive tried the following:

reinstallnig
changing directory
running as admin
starting crossfire from the exe not cg_box

the only way i can get it running at 20fps is moving the whole directory to my desktop

First of all check that your anti-virus is not scanning.

Second press Ctrl+Alt+Delete and go to Processes and
under CPU see if the value of any of the running processes
is higher than 40+.

Note: Do not mess with any processes with the following User Name
SYSTEM
NETWORK SERVICE
LOCAL SERVICE

Now go and download Ccleaner and install it then check EVERYTHING
and click Run Cleaner.

Get the latest version of GameBooster if you don't already have it.
