Mercenary Mode v.2
Alright so there have been threads, posts, and flames. If possible i would like to keep this thread limited to constructive criticism and thoughts.
As most of us know mercenary mode or "counter strike mode" is this:
"mercenary mode is like S&D with its own item shop. you start out with nothing but an m9 and a small amount of money. the first round, you can buy a decent pistol (or the colt which is free) and play with that. the second round you get to keep your pistol (if you didnt die) and you can buy a primary weapon. the more powerful, the more expensive. Every time you die, you lose all of your weapons and start back with M9. you get to keep your money tho so you can buy back the guns" - bkarn123
This would be by far the best mode/content we could get for this game. Demand for playing this game will increase, reputation of this NA branch of crossfire will better, and last and definitely not least the crossfire players both competitive and pubbers will have a mode that they can enjoy without worrying about zp.
The gameplay of this mode would require both logic and skill so people dont have to worry about getting awped beginning first round right when you spawn, people wont have to worry about everyone running around with scar lights, full nades and armour. Why? Becuase to make money you have to be somewhat of a good player and have decent intelligence. I know if this mode came to this game i would pub 2 maybe 3 times more than i do now JUST becuase of how versatile, competitive, and fun this game mode can be. I see absolutely NO FLAWS with the idea of this mode and think that if the people who are in charge of this version can try their hardest to get this mode into our game it would be the best thing we ever got.
Pandemic, Zombie, Gr Vs BL, to be perfectly clear and honest is absolute childish non sense/garbage compared to this mode.
To GM's/Mods/Devs/whom it may concern:
Do not reply to this post with comments on terms such as patience, surprises, waiting to see what happens. I also ask you to please give us what you think of this mode and WHY you aren't working to bring it into this game this very moment. Because that is what you SHOULD be doing. Saidan always gives the broadest and least detailed responses to these threads such as "we intend to continue adding content! be patient guys!" and ends it at that. Please try to respect the fact that SOME people in this community are intelligent and deserve a REAL answer with information that can help such as some dates some schedules some things you guys want to work on.
If we get a new mode it SHOULD be mercenary mode, if it is anything else such as zombie this game has failed to please any intelligent part of this community and that is said.
If were going to get a new mode make sure its the RIGHT one that will make the largest and most positive impact; Mercenary Mode.

Well they wouldn't have to add new maps even. We could play on our maps like BW, Ceyhan, etc.. Just imagining that mode with these maps are amazing. -

3rd: They have clearly stated that "Zombie" Mode is coming soon.

6th: Although I have seen a "few" people asking for this Merc Mode, the vast majority of people desperately want Pandemic Mode.

Everything you said there is absolutely and 100% true.
What im trying to do/say though is that it's a mistake. Why do you think WOGL is picking upi SND and not ghost mode, why is ESL NA picking up SND and not ghost mode.
Becuase it's better and MORE competitive. In my opinion Zombie mode and ghost mode are stupid. i think the GR vs BL thing is stupid. I think the merc. mode is the most intellectual and logical thing that could be released yet they wasted time on ALEX ROID AND BL GHOST.
No matter how good the odds are for zombie mode being released this is still the truth.
1. Bad mode
2. Bad players like the mode

During the intro for this event, myself and some lavender members hijacked it, pretending to be people on the BL side.
We then proceeded to make "fake" letters to and from various fictional people in the story line.
These letters suggested an update containig ZM.
- HOWEVER -
The GMs countered us by a) Posting a twitter message on Delaco's account saying "Black List should not be trusted," and b) making a hard to hear audio file saying "...not pandemic mode..." (or something along those line, I can't remember the exact words.) -
Control, if they release ZM, we should gather a mob and march on the HQ xD
I'm taking you seriously on that one , and if i can get a couple of TO lifeline guys, you, etc... i will actually go.. i mean its a company that i have invested money in and have spent money on, i should be able to communicate with them in a better way than the e net where saidan can bs me without seeing my face. -

Heh, I'm not talking about that nonsense on the forums. Go check the CrossFireOnline Youtube page. A person asked, "will zombie mode come to our version?" CrossFireOnline responded with, "Yes, 'Zombie' Mode is coming soon." That is a clear and direct statement. Another person also asked this question, and again the response was "Zombie Mode is coming soon, but it will not be called 'Zombie' Mode." -

Anybody who would prefer zombie mode over merc. mode is either under the age of 14 or bad at this game.
No, i dont have time to play competitive in online games, it doesnt mean i suck or im 14 years old, i just think that they should put what most of the people want in game.
If it comes merc mode, nice, everything thats new for the game is welcome. -

They are giving it to us, because many people have asked for it. You can't sit here and deny how many threads and posts have been about or relating to the release of Pandemic Mode. Plus you have to consider all the others who are sending endless PMs asking for it as well. I wouldn't worry though. This is an ever-growing game and I'm sure that over time we'll get "Merc" Mode and Breakout Mode and whatever else comes out. -

Fact: Merc mode has been talked about since CBT.
Also, to the final point in the "argument" (per say) is that we should just go play CS if we want a mode like CS.
There are 50 billion arguments why doing that is different, butI'll go with the easiest one.

1. Don't flame GM mode, this makes the game different from others. And I enjoy myself playing it from time to time. Makes you sound more immature than i first thought of you.
2. If you so desperately want that mercenary mode, why do you even play this game? You have another great game called Counter-Strike, like Denxi correctly stated.
3. Although I like the idea, it's not something that we necessarily need in CF. I'd rather have more S&D/Elimination maps.
4. If you got enough skill, you can take out an AWMer and scar light user no problem with pretty much any other assault rifle/some smg's, if you know how to use them. I've seen many skilled players taking out ZP buyers no problem. I mean, hell you can even use m60 to pwn others.
5. The other FPS games have got lots of 15- year olds people aswell, if you have played other games, there are sometimes just as much flaming, whining, etc going on in CS, COD, etc in public servers. So don't go making up some stupid assumptions.
6. like S4N, i don't actually support ZM either, there are several FPS games that got a bunch of undeads running around trying to bite ye (left4dead for instance lol...). Although I prefer Merc mode (the idea) more than ZM, but I'd rather want Z8 to add more maps for the current modes rather than introducing "counterstrike" to CF or Zombies... I've played CS for 3 years... I came to CF and COD MW (which I stopped playing before coming to CF) for a change, not to play the same game i played for 3 years again o.o... -

2. If you so desperately want that mercenary mode, why do you even play this game? You have another great game called Counter-Strike, like Denxi correctly stated.
Please, in the future, learn to read and completely understand a post and it's context before responding or refrencing said post.

very well written, i see you got some constructive opinions, that i share with you. and you are absolutely right about how the GMs respond to the community. This is game that is used to update every month, or often, and there should be some broadcast whats coming and what is not. Even if the patch will be in end of february, they should at least say "we are working, patch will be in february in the end" and everyone will be informed

Agreed, Paramedic mode is absolutely kiddish. If i wanted to play a zombie mode, I'll just play css modded version with better tactical play. Such as Can-Machines,Couches,Boxes,beds, to make it difficult for "zombies" to infect us. This "paramedic" mode will just be dull, using glitches,ladders,walk ways,Running,Jumping,lagging to defeat the infected with no kind of "strategy".

@VinnMaus, agreed... we seem to be left in the dark a bit too often/too long, its the same with the UK servers, that have been announced, but we don't actually know, if its coming out.
