Is the smoke glitch bannable?

Its a cool trick, I use it. But as far as being banned who knows till a mod replies huh..Is it? cause it's fun!! (did it in some private servers and it's awesome) great cover.
And one reason it's cool is that your not invincible, just hidden. And if you know about it, you can easier kill people using it which will be really fun
"wth hack.er you killed me though smoke"
"so what?"
"you can't see me in smoke idiot hackker f11 ur banned" -
I've never done it myself, and never knew about it till this thread, but I don't plan on doing it. farming rank : earning rank :: seeing a name through smoke : seeing through smoke
sum ppl prolly think since it's not bannable to take advantage of it, but I think it's a case of self-respect. -
To clarify on some of this.
First off, smoke grenades are used for cover.
Regular use of a smoke grenade will result in your character being harder to hit. However through the smoke if you (the opponent) happen to move your target over where the enemy in the smoke is it will change colour giving you the location of the enemy.
This is a mechanic we can't do anything about right now it has to do with how the engine handles the particles that are coming from the grenade.
Secondly, if there is some such case where by standing in one of the spots where a smoke grenade has been thrown you can not see the smoke there is likely (for now) nothing we can do about it. Again it's an engine thing.
However as mentioned above this type of scenario will likely result in your character standing still. Leaving you vulnerable to attacks.
So this type of behavior is not bannable. There is tradeoffs to trying to get the system to work in your favor and sometimes that means you will be leaving yourself open (in the smoke or not).
That being said, if there is some glitch where by standing in the smoke makes you invulnerable (ie not taking any damage) then we will have to investigate these bugs, find a cause and a solution and yes, abusing that kind of glitch is bannable.
When unfair advantage is gained through glitches it can result in account suspensions. But unfair advantage is more obvious than standing in some smoke to make it disappear. This isn't necessarily unfair because in doing so the player leaves himself open to be killed.
When a glitch is found such that a player CAN'T be killed, or is so game changing or balance affecting as say shooting through walls, or going to parts of the map that are not supposed to be accessed then you can get banned.
Hopefully that clears some of this up. If you do know of specific glitches please report them to a GM so we can take them to the developers and work on a solution. -

Yes however the amount of time and reaction speed of a player outside the smoke vs inside with all visability means said player inside smoke will have a faster reaction time, its alot easyer to shoot some1 while in the smoke clearly than scanning the smoke for a red name -_- -

the glitch only works in the middle of the smoke
shoot the middle of smoke and people die
it works wonders... -

Smoke glitching DOES give an unfair advantage. Smoke is now quite dense and has a big radius, making a player hidden in one pretty impossible to see in some scenarios.
I've been in many clan wars where the other team will put 3 smokes in b (bw) and a guy is glitched inside one of these smokes. We come in the site, which is completely smoked, mouse over the smokes, see nothing, go in. He sees us all clearly when we approach and pops us off one by one. It's not true that you can always see a guy through smokes, especially if the smoke has been there a while.
Going through walls is in the game; why is that bannable and not this? If it's the invincible argument: You can go through boxes where you can't be seen but you can be shot. Is that allowed then? -

and ghost jumping should be ban able because you are moving but invisible -
It's a childish glitch. Furthermore, anyone abusing any glitch needs rope around their neck.
It's not childish and it has been around since closed beta where many teams have used strategies around it.
Anybody with a smoke can do it and it adds a better side to the game. If the person who throws the smoke under them actually saw the smoke they would still be hidden and could get bullets off nametags. Just another part of the game like DOUBLE JUMPING it doesn't make sense and it's not too logical but it's a part of the game. -
To explain the smoke glitch here are some pics I took a while back when I first discovered this accidentally lol.
