You just have to learn the timing of the stab, thats all there is too it.

Also, this may be obvious, but try to stab them in the head.

what i do is waiting for the oponent to attack first... then i step back and right click and headshot, if i hit him but the oponent didn't die, i use the left click and he dies =P

what I do is just run forward. When i feel it's right i right click and it'll hit (i have an axe :P)
when i'm using my knife, i sit there. watch them run at me. and stab them. lolz
