Short status message after reporting cheaters?

well title says it pretty much..

why cant i receive a short message weither or not a player i reported has been banned...
i mean it takes time for me to review the replay myself, make a zip file, and fill out the report form... is it really too much to ask for to receive a little feedback?

i had about 4 very very very obvious hackers...sent the replay and never found those guys on the banlists... if there is no motivation for me why should i report at all and not just move to another server?

whats ur opinion guys?

  • they'll get banned eventually. all you need to know is they were obv hackers and they will.
  • A couple of things.

First off. Our entire system is just getting back up to speed from the Holidays. We apologize for the lack of response time during the last couple of weeks but we're back to normal now. So keep reporting and you should get a response quick enough.

Secondly. We're one of the only companies that actually makes our ban list public. Most bans end up on that list, but not all. Some special cases are handled internally or for legal/privacy reasons don't show up on the list. In the case of hacking this is rarely a problem, but it can affect the ban list. As such, refreshing the list to see if your reported hacker was there is not the most fun activity for you.

Thirdly. If you've actually gone through the momentary steps it takes to report a hacker it shouldn't take much more than a few minutes. And those steps are there to save time for us. So if those steps are completed properly then your report gets processed quick.

It's when those steps aren't followed (for the other 90% of the replays we receive) that cause the system to be slower.

Rest assured though, we're banning hackers and taking care of the situation. I'm sorry you haven't seen YOUR specifically reported hacker up there, but sitting around and refreshing the ban list doesn't get anyone anywhere. Have faith in the work we're doing, play the game and enjoy the time!
  • yeah.... I have the same problem... I reported the hacker in the form of required ... and I think the hackers are pretty obvisous, one of them used bugs, and I have the pictures that they are staying in the wall ... but none of them get banned ... I know GMs have millions of reports to deal with everyday and their job is not easy .... but it is true that they are not doing their jobs as well as I expected ... Hope this game will be better ...

i understand all that. i can just hope that the players get banned.

please note that i am not the all-the-way-QQing-whining kid. i played quake back in the days and alot of CS since the beginning...(yeah i am old lol). i accept if players are better then me, thats alright :) those reported players were not even trying to hide the fact that they cheat. like walking around corners with the flash in their hand, running around the whole map like that and quckly changing to their weapon whenever they spotted enemies through the walls. ya know what i mean.

thanks for you work and attention!
    greets!
