How to Create a CrossFire Clan
This is an official guide to creating a clan for CrossFire. Please note that you aren't required to use anything in this guide for your clan as these are merely some simple guidelines
Before you even consider creating a clan, ask yourself the following questions:
- Do I have the time, devotion, and skill to sustain an active clan?
- Am I creating this clan solely to be the leader of it?
- Will this clan be a hacking-based clan?
- Am I going to participate actively in clan activities?
WARNING: Hacking is strongly prohibited and you will be banned if you are caught, so don't even think about creating a hacking-based clan.
[EDIT]Creating a Clan Name
Naming a clan is not quite like naming the family hamster or giving your new car a pet name, it is a bit more complex. No one is very concerned if there are other hamsters or cars by the same name, but your team is sharing the internet with hundreds of thousands of other teams all at once! No one wants to have the same name as everyone else in the class, so we stress over coming up with something different and something that sounds cool.
So how do you accomplish this? How do you create something different in an environment that has so many other examples of uniqueness?
The secret lies in finding your team's IDENTITY.
Lets say I want to start a team, and I want the number one rule to be have FUN! I want something a bit silly, but cool in an unexpected way, I want visitors on my server to wonder, and laugh, but at the same time take me seriously. So, I start thinking outside of the box here and come up with something silly and a bit funny…
FishSticks, yes Fishsticks. Those nasty little fish slivers that are breaded and deep fried, but we absolutely LOVED as kids.
So I run with this, and I decide to add a little Rock Band to it, and call the team “the FishSticks”, our tag can be [tFS] or maybe [FISH] for more humor.
Now, let me clear this up real quick…
The name of the team will NOT determine how successful the team will be, and the name will not automatically make you better at a game, or provide you with some incredible skill with people. If your team is successful it is because YOU and the TEAM are successful at working with each other and ENJOY what you are doing.
Don't be afraid to be creative
Don't think that the future of a clan lies in its name
Don't use other clan names or tags (be original!)
Naming a clan should be based on how you want to run the team, how you want the team to serve the greater gaming world, and what you feel is best suited for your purpose.
I just made this up to show how you can take something ridiculous and make it interesting and useful.
Getting People to Join Your Clan
Before you can have an active clan, you need the blood that keeps the clan alive: Members. Now, you aren’t going to get people to join your clan unless your clan is looking good and you have at least 2 friends that are helping you run the clan. When you get all of those, you can start getting members. DO NOT just go into Crossfire and start PMing people asking them if they want to join your clan, as the usual response is, “No thank you”. Instead, try to make tryout rooms or go in different games and look for pros.
You can raise your war record by warring other clans and beating them, but you should probably get a lot of skilled players into your clan before accepting any wars, or your war record will drop significantly and nobody will want to join. Also, a very important concept in maintaining a strong war record
Maintaining Your Clan
Alright, so you have made the clan, gotten all the members you need, and done this and that. Now what are you supposed to do? Well, you need to keep order in your guild and make sure nobody breaks any of the clan rules.
After your clan has been going steady for a while, you should consider clan tournaments (tourneys). In clan tournaments, members of the clan fight each other and the winner usually receives a prize, like ZP, or permanent sprays only the winners can recive.
When you think your clan is really strong, you can start going into wars and raising your war record, and remember, don’t be afraid to lose, as a balanced war record is a good war record
Thank You!
If you follow this guide, you should be off to a great start in no time, just pay attention to your members and maintain your clan well. If you would like to share this guide with anybody, please link them to this thread. If you feel that I have left anything out, feel free to suggest anything that I’ve forgotten to add via private message or simply bump this thread. Thank you for reading this and good luck!
P.S. This week in school, we did nothing. So I decided to make this guide in my classes.
