How many "FPS" you can get on CrossFire?

2nd - vaporizer, my pc is 2x times faster than yours.
some one does not understand how multi core processors work. duel core does not mean it runs twice as fast as the listed clock speed. other wise they would call your 2.9 gh a 5.8 gh,
look it up..
also, the graphics engine for crossfire is JUNK, completely a resource hog with no bang for the buck.... that is why frame rates in this game are so low. the devs are better then the modding community but not good enough to work for the big game publishers. which is why they produced a free game. the idea being that you would over look poor quality 'cause the game is free, then once u get hooked on the "solid" game play you will "donate" money for useless sh1t.
Also the maps, while they look good, or put together in a crappy way. This adds to the frame rate also sence video memory is being taken up by stupid stuff that u cant even see because they forget to designate ALL unseen surfaces as nodraw... and the ability to glitch maps is completely the mappers fault, they could add surfaces with no draw put cliping propertys to block the "cracks" at wall junctions and the such. -

My old pc had a cpu Pentium 4 2.7ghz all benchmarks that i've made to my old computer and to this one with core 2 duo 2.9 (2 years old) shows me that this one is 2x times faster than the other one. -
Probably get the most updated driver for your video card, it might help to stabilize the issue. The CPU and RAM should work well enough with the card so maybe after a updated driver you wills see a huge difference.
You also might need to play around with some settings. -

ofcourse its faster.not by cores specificly but since the C2D is alot more optimized than the P4,it is only faster if u use sumthing that actually uses both cores.the difference is kinda like AMD and intel, my 2.2ghz athlon64 = the performance of a 3.2ghz pentium4,whcih is now overlcok to 2.7 which probly goes over 4.0 for the pentium4 -

depending on ur cpu,ur gfx is a large bottleneck there
Funny thing is,I had XP and updated my driver.
Went into a match and to my surprise I had 40-50 fps in an 8v8.
All of a sudden my XP is broke,I think a virus got me,cause everything was deleted.
I got Windows 7 now, updated my driver and all,but no luck in good fps.
I un-installed Cod4,L4d,and CF because it wasn't working as well anymore. -
Just to let you know
your card should have given you 0 performance differences (good or bad) from your previous on in CF. Crossfire can run fine on cards from 2/3 years ago, the bottle neck is your cpu. Since you switched cards and got less performance, i have to assume that the drivers are messing up for some strange reason, or you messed around with something on your cpu.
For comparison, your current setup is similar to my old one
C2D at 2.5, 8600 gts = 40-70fps
C2D at 2.5, 4890 OC = 40-70fps
I5 at 3.4, 4890 OC = 130-290 fps
Can you tell where the bottleneck is? :P
Also, the game is optimized to only run on one core, and was designed at the time where the p4's running at 3+ ghz were in style. So, you could have a 12 core at 1.9 ghz, but CF would run like garbage. -

Well, never messed with overclocking or anything.
You saying maybe I should revert the card and or update it again? -

That was more for the OP, not you
Would need to have more specific specifications of your computer to tell you what to upgrade (including your monitor and resolution and Power supply unit) -

Oh my bad,apologies.
I think I will just stick without gaming on the PC anymore, ruined my life already :P.
I'm working with Vegas and After Effects now, making videos and such on YT.
For some reason I still like to check up on CF though,I'm just stuck to it no matter what.

I can tell you one thing, upgrading your computer will makes vegas encode videos around 200-400% faster then what you have now :P -

Pshh, tell that to my father,I've been through about 3 computers now,he won't fall for it again.
Mine render at an average rate I guess.
It is slow at times though,I'm going to be 16 in a few months, gonna get a part time job,and customize a computer, makes me want to get into the habit of gaming again. -

lol 60fps + playable? For me 17fps+ is playable. around 35fps is godly and anything about 45fps+ is a miracle from heaven.rune101rune wrote: »I'm running a single 8800 GT and my frames rarely go below 150. I should be getting more but anything above 60 is playable to me. -
with my specs:
Cpu: Athlon64 Single Core 2.2ghz OverClocked to 2.71 Ghz
Ram: 1Gb 333mhz DDR
Video: Radeon X1600XT 256mb GDDR3 @ 1.38ghz/Core @ 590
with all this which is about 4~ years old i get a bare maximum of 330 fps on CF on all high @ 1024x768 res.
i can play Crysis on medium with 30fps tho i only got the demo for Performance Testing.
sure.
