Windows Xp Question.

Ok so moms old laptop had a virus and was acting weird. So she put in the windows xp disc and reformatted it now has sp1 which is very old and will not pick up our wireless or our modem. Any help would be appreciated =|

it being sp1 likely has nothing to do with the problem...

but if u think this to be the issue, just go to microsofts website and download sp2 and 3.

Try Install SP2, and your PC Drivers.

You need to install your wireless adapter's driver. Just go to the manufacturers website and they'll probably have the downloads for your specific model.

The problem is most likely that the drivers necessary for the computer were not on the XP disc. Like Gurpp said, check the manufacturers site from another computer and transfer the files to the other computer using a flash drive. Make sure to download ALL of the drivers, such as chipset, network, and video.
