A quick note on "hacked" accounts
Due to the rise in people with "hacked" accounts I just want to clear a few things up. I'm getting a disturbing amount of PMs in game this.
Fist of all, no accounts have ever been hacked. There has never been a case where someone has gained access to the Z8 servers and gotten logon info for anyone. Some people say that their account was just hacked out of the blue. If this was the case, don't you think a GM or mod would have their accounts hacked first? Also, some type of virus or malware on your computer, while harmful, is not going to be changing your crossfire account. These things are after mainly bank information and could care less about your CF account.
So how are these accounts being compromised?
Well there are a few ways.
Unfortunately, the people most at risk for this only seem to visit the forums because someone got a hold of their account and likely will not see this until it is to late.
If ANYONE ever asks for your password this should be a red flag that something is not right.
Also, if your account was compromised, you should send in a support ticket on the support page.
Give as much information as you again about how it happened, when, and anything else you feel may be useful.

Well there are a few ways.
- People that give their logon info to someone in false hope of getting free ZP, guns, or what ever other crazy stories people make up.
- There have been key loggers found hidden in hacks released by sites. In this case the only accounts that would be compromised are ones that would be of use to who ever the keylogger is sending info back to. If you don't have anything worthwhile on the account they are not going to change the info on you.
- People sharing their logon with "friends" who they think wont take advantage, and then do.
- Lastly, while uncommon. Some people have very easy to guess passwords. Your password should have nothing to do with your account name, in game name, crossfire, or yourself. Also, you should at least have a number or random capital letter tossed in there

Nice post Rob,
I got the "Your ID has already been logged in" 2 times, and changed my pw 2 times now. Hopefully it won't happen again.
People really need to be more careful with information online.
