MUST READ! Solution To Decreasing Hackers Substantially!

I was reading another thread on how the kick voting system should be removed. Whilst posting my suggestions, the big idea struck me. Z8 needs to advertise and promote more! Now, your probably thinking, how does this affect me? Well, I don't mean promoting Cross Fire, I mean promoting the feature to report players. Yes, you heard it, reporting players. This is the only way for players, like you and me, to rid of hackers. Z8 can't do it alone. They need strong, constant support.

By promoting the 'report and player' feature, it will ensure that current and new players become more aware of what they can do to help eachother. So many more hackers can be banished by simply more players becoming aware of what they can do to stop the issue for the long-run. You're probably thinking that the kick-voting system will solve everything. Yes, maybe you'll feel satisfied of ridding a hacker from your match, but what about the next match you play or the one after that? Kick-voting is not the way of the future -we have to realise that. For the long-run players need to start familiarising themselves with the report a player function.

When I mean promoting, I mean making it appear before and after matches - as an announcement. When you log onto the Cross Fire website, it can appear, just like the Christmas giveaway dialog box. Regular reminders like these will give the players the impression, that ultimately they can secure a fun and happy future in Cross Fire for themselves and friends.

I can sense though that you're still not entirely with this idea. Does a reward for your eye for detail and time sound good? It would be fair to say that Z8 give you something in return for successfuly filing in a report on a genuine hack. Several crates or BP sounds like a fair trade off to me. Of course ultimately it's up to Z8 to decide on the reward, though I stress that it would be important to have an incentive for players.

This idea:

Does NOT add, remove or change any current in-game features.
Does NOT affect any player in a negative way.
Does NOT increase Z8's work load greatly.

WILL rid of more hackers then ever before.
WILL reward players for their loyalty to the game.
WILL create an awe of accomplishment throughout the community.

Thanks for reading this thread guys. Please feel free to post your CONSTRUCTIVE comments and ideas.

  • I like it,

I had a similar post a while back that focused on the HONOR thing

We have Honor now but it means nothing and affects nothing.

Community driven Honor system that rewards players for having high honor will at the very least make people less caustic to one another.

I'll look for my thread on link it here.

But we have the same concept of getting the players involved to a higher degree.

Thanks for putting thought to this.

  • Arhh yes, this thread. I remember reading that thread. You too, like me, put alot of thought into it.

I totally agree with your suggestions on revamping the honor (honour) system. A few things that I think you need to reconsider though:

    1. I think you've made honor a little to complicated and involved.
    2. It's not fair to base the ranks of clans through honor.

Apart from that, our topics both can work to an advantage in Cross Fire. Congratulations.
  • I think a community based focus. Where the players call the shots is a great idea.

Making honor a "PART" of an eqation is probably more acceptable. Making it the only focus would probably be too limiting your correct.

Maybe calling it reputation would be better. Personal honor first. Clan reputation could be a composite of Honor, Scrim victories and Activity.

Needless to say I hate farmers.

If I'm the host of a room and a farming clan enters, I kik em. If they are put up for a vote I kik em. If I think I can pass it I start the vote.

Cheating, Glitching, Accusing, Farming and rudeness are all levels of the same mindset. Maybe none of our Ideas will be adopted. But show me they game that has control of these things and I'm in.

  • Sometimes I feel as if players could do a better job of running this joint then the current.
  • I think this is a GREAT idea i have actually found that some people even think the save at the end of the match ment you saved your points. So this is a great idea because I started a clan of noobs ,no offence to anyone in my clan i love you all:) and not many of them knew what a GM is or reporting at all. This is one of the best ideas i've seen. It will educate the people so we can rid this game of as many hackers as possible.
  • Thanks for your support! I agree. It's about time that players were educated and motivated on the steps to ridding of hackers.
  • Wow! I'm liking this one man!!! I actually cant find flaws in thsi idea. Good job. keeep it up!
  • 1) There are not many hackers since Xtrap
    2) Most people that can tell hack from skill know how to report
    3) Giving rewards for reports will greatly increase the amount of (most likely false) reports = more replays for GMs to look at = replays with real hackers get seen later = hackers get banned slower.
    4) Support will most likely get a great amount of 'I reported a hacker, but got no reward' tickets.
  • How about a 5,000 GP bonus to the first person to report an actual hacker and a 1,000 GP penalty for each false report?

That'll make it worth your while to be SURE someone is cheating before you report them.
  • totally, agree with you ;)

  • Sorry to revive an old thread, but I like the idea of some sort of incentive to get people to submit hacking reports. It seems like the biggest complaint against submitting reports is that people don't think it's worth it. Let's be honest, most of us want to see something done about our frustrations in the near future or we're not happy with the solution even if patience and a more long-term solution would ultimately be better (this applies to everything, not just hackers in a game). So when people submit hacking reports and don't see any change right away, they think "It's not worth it" and they don't bother with it in the future. They've lost the incentive. Maybe you could keep that incentive to submit reports if you got something for it. It wouldn't have to be a big reward, something simple like 10 BP for every verifired hacker reported - not every verified hacking report, or people would submit the same report 1000 times and then cry about why they didn't get 10,000 BP. The specifics of the reward isn't what's important here, just the idea of implementing some sort of incentive system for reporting hackers other than "Your hacker report is important to us. Thank you."

Also, perhaps it could be worthwhile to create some sort of group to help sort through all the hacking reports. The group would be hand-selected as trusted individuals of the community, and could be anywhere from 5-10 people to as many as 30-40. This group wouldn't have any power to ban people, but they can go through the (what I assume to be an) immense stack of hacking reports submitted and weed out the ones that aren't valid. Then, the list of reports they deem as verified go to whoever usually checks them (I have no idea who that is, support staff or whoever), but now they don't have near as many invalid reports to go through, meaning they can identify and ban the real hackers more quickly.

Just my thoughts, but in this as in any endeavor, I believe communication and cooperation are vital, so I just wanted to put it out there. =)
  • I agree 100% with actually telling people how to report hackers... hell... I still dont know where to send my message. And as for the reward maybe just a peace of gear that lasts like a week or something?
  • dude u tell me...I was playing a death match they kicked me 8 times today when in last minute, they may think I hack (which I am not) or 2nd player wanted the ace but I played over 2 hours with + %110 exp items and I was able to get only 700exp in 2 hours as a pro player, but they don't even do something about hacks how would u expect they do something about their crappy vote kick system ?
that game doesn't even deserve 1cent of donation....
  • I like the idea that the OP has and even think it may stop people hacking since they will see the announcement too and will then believe everyone knows how to report, instead of thinking "many don't know how to".

I suggested this too - Great idea.

They only have to pay thee people a decent amount of ZP (which is free for z8).

whatever u smoking or drinking can I have some ?
  • But be aware, if the reporting job is easy, the list of people who do not hack and get accused of hacking grows very large..

I also would like all hackers to be kicked, but when you play a game, and get some lucky shots in a row, there are whiners out there who scream HACKER, HACKER kick. so the reports will grow if made easy. and the non hackers who are accused of hacking will get kicked/banned to.

    but thats my opinion
  • this is a great idea. i played for a couple weeks before i figured out how to report. i constantly hear noobs claiming they just reported a hack, during a game. which, of course, aint how it works. and a reward for genuine hack reports is perfect. that will encourage players who are apathetic to get on the anti-hack bandwagon. i vote for ya. i also think we need a bigger presence of mods in game. if mods were popping in and out of games looking for hacks it would help alot. i assume they are not, as i've never seen them. z8 should start a hack patrol. maybe use players in good standing. i would volunteer.

i dont think theyd kick non********. i get accused daily. the replay is submitted to prove hacking. accusation is nothing. every noob cries hacker when he dies.
  • THE ONLY solution to this... is to "hire" more CFs MODs... the idea is not bad even if one of this "mods" recently laughed at me for this idea... its possible to control everything if you have the correct quantity of people leading with this problem...

    ... Xtrap is useless
    ... Report is more useless

hire more mods! u will have less work...
  • Z8Games have a lot of problens such as hackers, glitchers, this new ***ing noob fail anti-hack system, the kick vote system, etc! I saw a lot of threads what contain everything who z8games needs to solve this problens! how many times will we need to show then a solution until they do something?

    Sorry for bad english!

there is no such a way to get banned when not hacking, I've been playing playing deathmatch since 2 years, I kill whole team over and over with multikills, I am sure they reported me over 1000times never got banned or somethin
