Virus Warning
I'm not a regular z8 games forum browser but I was checking to see what was going on with the servers a week ago when every game opened was closing on us. After making a post I got a trojan "antivirus" program running my computer that got in deep & QUICK.
Long story short, it destroyed my hard drive.
I had no reason to believe the trojan is sourced from this game until I came back here and read a few of your posts in regards to something similar.
Take that for what it's worth. I had no time to identify the source due to the efficacy of the trojan. All I can tell you is that is initiated when browsing these forums.
I'm d/l'ing CF again at this very moment but given the information on these boards I might refrain. It's too coincidental.
p.s. I was a moderate - heavy SP/ZP buyer with this account since Feb '09; I did make a negative comment towards the managers after the last patch was having issues (soon after that, the trojan started) but I can't understand why I would have been targeted if this website was indeed the source given my purchases in the past.

No, there were no links. Just a task bar popup that followed with an automated scan. After that i couldn't access my control panel or my task bar. Then, after a fresh boot, it couldn't even start up in safe mode. In the BIOS, I couldn't reformat....hard drive failure. The only good thing that came out of it was an unexpected purchase of windows7 and a new hard drive. In case you're wondering, I won't risk a visit to this site and canceled my d/l of crossfire to the new hard drive; I type this from my phone and wouldn't even do that if it wasn't under warranty.
Take it from me, be careful with these free games unless you have a few hundo's layin around. -
It's when you browse the forums mainly or other parts of the site. Has absolutely nothing to do with in-game play. I've already gotten this two times, both times I was browsing the mainpage on Z8games.
It's hard to get rid of, I suspect it is some sort of ad for "Internet Security."
Regardless I mention to do PC Recovery and be completely fine. -

z8 fails i think its evil
i got 4 anti viruses they cant get past my old lappy ;d -
yes same happened to me 4-5 days ago. When I browsed this forum it suddenly closed and got a pop up anti-virus that wants to scan my computer. What I did was click the X exit and quickly scan my lavasoft. If you even click cancel it will still scan, because It happened before.

People have no reason to infect your PC with a virus or malware unless there's something to gain. Such as purchase information. The z8 website does not encrypt its receipt page properly when you buy ZP.
On that note, when you have finished purchasing it and you're on the recript of payment page, do not return to mall. Close the browser, log in, then go to the mall.
It won't pass over an unsecured network this way, hopefully.
