if your using adobe photoshop

you go to file/new../
then this will pop out

change the with and length to your liking (im guessing you know this already)

change (below) were it says contents
click on transparent



then when your done doing what your doing



save as as .PNG
and next time you post the pic in a forum it will be transparent.. well were the white used to be.

When on photoshop press CTRL+R to make Ruler visible, then right click it to change size of canvas, canvas = document size.

on the left theirs a tool called CORP, use that one to make to and exact match you want.
