key settings error, reset at start up

Hello Community, whenever I start the game, my settings are gone and I have to reset crouching, walking and jumping. The default won't work. Jumping for example, is set to "SPACE". When I hit the space key, it shows "LEER", which is German for space. I have a German keyboard setting, perhaps that's the problem? But then, why are my settings not saved between restarts?

Also, tab (to see my status, ping etc.) doesn't work. Possibly the same problem, but can't get it to work.
