WOGL Supportationizing
Well as 150+ people noticed yesterday, the WOGL cast was pretty buggy the entire time it was up. This happened because certain people decided to "attack" the server with whatever means which made it pretty bad for us. I think it could even be correlated to the people who decided to spam the Ventrilo server. Not really sure why those people decided to do what they did, but it was pretty stupid.
Anyway the cast will be up on the website for people to download/view, so you guys can still watch the match as if it was yesterday and life continues. Hopefully in the future we can get a spectator mode, since grenade suicides are a 50/50 sort of thing. And since they have already run one cast, I'm sure they will do very well with future casts, all trial and error.
Anyway, not really sure what my point is in all that, kind of just trying to get some info up and maybe start a discussion. For those of you who don't know, you can support WOGL in a lot of ways. Heres some of the places you can go to get info on WOGL and get into the community.

And of course, the WOGL ventrilo server, which was maxed out at 150 slots and had the biggest list of people I have ever seen on any vent server in my entire life. Even when AVA was first introduced I never saw them get this many people in to support. Good for us right?

It's pretty empty last time I checked, there is really no need to be in there unless there is events or casts going on, though people can still stop by and chat, its there to be used.
I have to say though, being on that vent yesterday was VERY annoying. People of all ages and all races, random and known, all trying to talk in those few channels was so bad at some points that I muted the WOGL vent and went elsewhere. But even with the minor annoyances there were a few good channels and I got to meet a few people.

Yeah they should make the ventrilo channel so when you watch it in a certain channel you can't talk. Also, the reason why it was so laggy was because to many people were watching it. I believe they were estimating 150-300, but they said they got over 700+ PEOPLE. That's why the servers were overloaded and it was slow. Next time their expecting 1000+ so I hope they fix it.

No they were being "hacked" or "attacked". They already have a lot of people watching AVA casts, so the amount of people would not really be an issue. Of course you cold be right in a certain sense, there were a lot of people doing a lot of things at once, but that wasn't the entire issue. -
