Auto Shotgun and/or Claymore?

I don't know if this has been suggested or discussed but auto shotguns and claymores might be cool in crossfire. Claymores might be problomatic with certain maps and games but it could be useful and fun. Auto shotguns (like the AA-12) might be an effective new weapon on crossfire. Feel free to build on the idea and feed back would be appreaciated.

xm104, hold the trigger down, and it continues to shoot, same with spas

and the claymores, would be freaking crazy, but cool, except one thing, crossfire is a fast paced game, kind of hard to plant them, but i'd give it a try

Thanks for the details on shotguns, I didn't know that. I know that Cross Fire is fast paced and claymores might be "not as effective" or "to effective" so it kills the fast pace, but if players are willing to give it a try it might be cool.
  • I dont very like claymores, but i guess only 1 per guy would be ok. But, usually team put them all to block a place and it sucks, but it would be ok if we could fire them at a long distance.

And about the Shotty : it looks great.

i'm for it, i'll plant a claymore, in s&d, hey play on crossroad, and try the xm104

Thinking about claymores though now worries me because it might take away from the fast pace in cross fire that I like. If everyplayer plants a Claymore no one would dare to take one step out of there bace and If they do it will be a slow process. It might be fun if there was some limit on the amount of claymores planted per team. How does that sound?

And jumping back to the auto shotguns I think that the AA-12 would be a great new addition. Maybe they can increase the cappacity of ammo for this gun to make it more unique to others in it's class.

-Grenade launchers, <adjective> launcher, flamethrower, plasma weapons, nukes and other excessively large, shocking, or high-damage items are not being considered."

I guess they don't want to turn CrossFire into the ruined Combat Arms?
  • I think this is getting a little unrealistic. They might as well have a nuclear weapon you can buy with huge amounts of ZP so you can nuke that round if it aint going your way.I think you have to keep these games interactive and not incorporate weapons of MASS destrution. Are you Al Queda BTW......hahaha.....just joking

Grenade launchers might be cool but plasma weapons and such are kinda unrealistic. Nukes would be just plain annoying, unless you fired it and flame throwers could be a maybe. Overall I think the grenade launcher the best of your ideas.
  • not happening, check the common suggestions thread next time.
  • An automatic shotgun such as the AA12 or Pancor Jackhammer I am all for. However claymores I am not. Play Vietcong 2 and you will know why.
  • claymores dont like the idea only if on real big maps other wise evry nub would plant them and if u wanna go somewhere u will just die it will be even worse then the nading nubs in ship and egept

    ....

That shows that you didn't read the stickies...

They are NOT my ideas, they are what are NOT being taken into account because they do not want CrossFire to become a nub game with massive killing weapons.

How come the Star L is in game then?
  • auto shotgun maybe but not claymores.... its not like BF :P

Grenade launchers are not massive killing weapons, they are strategic squad level pieces of equipment that require a fair bit of skill to use effectively. Same as rocket launchers, C4 and any other sort of explosives. However, the reason Claymores are too overpowered to enter the game is because it can be both remote detonated or detonated by nearby personnel, meaning you can plant one there and it won't require your own management. As a result, people will just place it in hallways, walk off elsewhere and just camp and such and no one will be able to pass through. Think of what it would do on Ghost Mode and Search & Destroy!

I said the massive killing thing because in CrossFire, no one or very few peeps use strategy...

Would you like to see ch00bs with M32's nading everyone?

    KINDA unrealistic? Are you kidding?
  • Yes, because choobs can't do well at all and wouldn't survive long enough.
