Idea to balance GM...
This idea struck me awhile ago, but I never thought much into it, until one of my clan mates and I where playing GM. I just camped as GR and pretty much killed every ghost that came towards me, ending games with scores like 38-10. Then the idea came as a flashback, so here is my idea.
My idea is to balance gm by adding a Throwing knife/ Shuriken(Ninja star) to the ghosts instead of a grenade. The item could be bought from Item shop on temp loan like breath down and foot noise reduction. This Item would have one use(just like grenade), a short to mid range on throw, and hopefully the ability to headshot with a single hit, but have minimal body damage(Maybe 30-40).
This would make it much more challenging for the GR, because they would lose the ability to camp as much, and force them to keep moving.
I feel that doing this would greatly improve the feel of the mode. Because atm it is incredibly easy for any GR wearing headset.
Anyway, that was my idea, hope you guys like it!

i peronally think this is not the greatest idea, when im a ghost most of my kills are on campers cause i just bunny hop my ass over to them and also of the Gr team is camping just go plant the bomb (Btw i just played with you in that GM were we lost like 13-4 20 min ago) but any ways what im saying is if i got one of those throwing things yes it would make it easier but honestly i think that would get way to easy for the ghosts, example your defuseing so i just stay a fair distance away from the bomb take my time to aim for your head and throw it then bunny hop some where else. your pretty much giving a ghost a Winchester with 1 bullet here.

the one we lost because of being out numbered? we lost on defuse because we where 3v5. kinda hard to beat that, if it was 8v8 or something it woulda been a slaughter. and Obviously you missed the earlier games. Damage could be lower on hs then, to prevent the bomb planters from sitting back, but seriously, even with that hs, if you make this buy able temp item, not that many ghosts will have. Only the die hards

i just really dont think ghost should have ranged weps i mean like id say yes Gr beats Bl more but the contain strain of hac.kers helps them win id say if there was no hack it would almost be dead even....and god damn it NigmaT you RickRolling *******

it just seems like GR is better in pub games because most people are new to being a ghost and only have knives with no perks.
And how long has Gr had the advantage? :P
Only about 1/8 ghost even know BH anyway.
3/8 ghosts usually have shovel/axe though. -
Pro Global Riskers still have a huge advantage over pro Black Listers in Ghost mode. Its called "the Headphones". Even with noise down, a pro GR can pick up the sound of a ghost's breath at a greater distance then the ghost can cross rushing and dodging before being killed.
How many games have been lost because a noob ghost lost the bomb in a vent to noob Global Risker camping inside? A short range throwing weapon would really come in handy then. It would make Global Risk think twice about camping out. And if you make it lose power over distance, its a perfectly well balanced idea. -

hehe well i used to be really good at GR. but now the pro's roll over me. obv because of the b hopping. but i just upgraded my dragunov to a psg red dragon so we'll see how that helps.
and yea i noticed more people have shovels but dunno how to use it lol. still scary tho.
anyway, it's been like 2 months since i played as GR because so many people prefer to be on it. Now that being a ghost is a bit easier, hopfully people will join BL. then i can play as a human for once.
(ninja star weapon is still a bad idea) -
I would like to point out, that is is simply the gr job to camp. Camp bomb site, camp vents, camp dropped bombs. ITS CALLED DEFENSE! GR is the defense team, bl is the offense.
As for a ninja star, I would have to say no.
To increase the effectiveness of bl, they should have a some kind of supportive item, not another weapon. -

Well... Nobody can't hear it if it's turned off. When you turn it on it's noisy but can do a lot of damage. -
Eh, Im torn both ways. As said before, a pro ghost can take a pro GR 5 days of the week and once on the weekend. Its a cool idea but I think the problem with it being GP is that every private and his brother can get one, and if the damage doesnt decrease over range, then BL rush/ camp GR spawn. And even if they only got one or two throwing knives, they would still beat the crap out of GR. All in all its a great idea but I think it could throw off the delicate balance of GM.

Gotta agree with the man ;DBL is easy (after new patch [IJ patch]). It's already balanced, if you playing pro (IYO), then play in the Alpha Server, Channel 7, any G.M room.
IT WONT HAPPEN FOR SURE...if it's gonna be, then BL will win GR for 13:0/11:0/9:0... -
Which is why we got FBH.LolliRoger wrote: »For people who haven't heard, they messed with the bunny hop. It no longer is even half as effective as it used to be. The bunny hop can no longer be done silently or fast enough to come close to the enemy before he has time to react.
Fast and efficient for covering long ranges.
Backwards is still do-able relatively fast, but with an annoying timing. -

This is just silly, a knife is a 1 hit kill alraedy. Why bother making a rediculous amount of noise, and take even longer to kill someone? Knives are quiet, fast, and effecient. Shovels and axes are more so.
bhoppong used to be troublesome, but enough experiance with them, a sharp eye, quick reflexes, and good instincts bhop is defeated rather easily.I think being GR is already hard enough with more and more people learning + "mastering" bunnyhop everyday. Even headsets aren't as helpful against the very few who "mastered" bunnyhop to move at the full speed of ghosts without being visible.
GR to me is 50% headphones, 50% instincts. -
If the throwing knives (forget about the shuriken) are placed in the grenade section, then they are limited to 3 per round MAX, but will probable be limited to 1 per round, like grenades are.
If the effective range is kept 20 ft. for 100% head, 30% torso, 10% arm or leg, and with a loss of 10%/3%/1% every foot after that, then you quickly get a very manageable weapon that gives GM an small perk without being overpowering, for it would do no more damage beyond 30 ft. -
the post above me was more along what I was thinking.
Yes it would be absolute max of 1 per round, just like nade. With a range limit to prevent from being OP. Also, it would travel at same rate like a nade, Fall and all. So to even get good with it, you would have to plan for fall of knife when throwing to get a HS. That alone would make it almost impossible to headshot anyone at any great distance.
I do not feel this would be op if it was to the following specs. Rank Req(to allow to cost GP), Had fall on throw just like nade, to prevent long range killing(And possibly a reduction over range to damage). AND YES, it would be single use just like a nade.
This would allow ghosts to kill moronic GR players who either bug up onto places or just camp.
And to the people saying perks+bhop was enough to kill any pro, I dare you to find [N]ight on west coast and beat him as BL. He will find you, and kill you no matter what. you may get up to him with bhop, but by the time your within 10feet you will die. And yes I had breath down and footstep down.
