Why Russians cant play esports?

Hey, I have long been interested in the question, why are players living in Russia restricted from participating in tournaments? I understand the situation in the world perfectly well, but this seems strange to me, since the civilian population of the country, including the majority of Russian players, are against fighting and killings. Nowadays there are many talented Russian players playing crossfire who want to take part in competitions. Please consider lifting the ban
