There are 3 options:
#1. Keyboard not compatible with CrossFire West.
CrossFire West only supports QWERTY and QWERTZ (selected in-game).
You need a QWERTY keyboard. You can try this, although it is recommended to have a real one:
Check the configuration on Windows (Control Panel / Language).Step 1: Go to the Start button and open "Control Panel".
Step 2: Choose the option "Clock, Language and Region".
Step 3: Select "Regional and Language Options" and in the "Installed Services" section, click "Add.
Step 4: If your keyboard is set to "French" (AZERTY) change it to "English US/UK" (QWERTY).
Step 5: In the "Keyboard" section, choose "QWERTY and apply the changes by clicking "OK"
This is AZERTY:

This is QWERTY:

Uncheck this (it says read only in Spanish). You might have that checked. If yes, that means the game can't change your options.
Steps:- Go to CrossFire folder on My documents.
- My Documents please.
- Find the file called "System.dat".
- This file "System.dat" is checked/marked in "read-only", I guess. If that is the case: Uncheck that "read-only" option, and try clicking "Save changes".
If the above did not work, then try this: In your Windows Defender settings, there is an option for “controlled folder access”. You need to disable “controlled folder access” in Windows Defender or another antivirus so CF can save your settings.
PD: Remember to do this outside of the game.

I am having a similar issue, when I save my settings in game the game to full screen, it does not save. If I try to select the same in game resolution as my display settings, the same in game resolution becomes impossible to select. I was wondering if this is because I have a 13" screen, which is quite small, but it should still work?

You can try option 2 or 3.
If you can't run on a specific resolution in-game settings, it means your PC doesn't support it or doesn't have the corresponding driver.
