No Sound in Crossfire

Happens all the time to me. I just have to restart the game.

If you recently made changes into the operating system, check out if you have Media Feature Pack add-ons or WMP (Windows Media Player). It would be nice if you could check the CrossFire sound bar on the Windows sound mixer.

It is known that players who have Windows versions KN and N, they need to install the Media Feature Pack add-on.

Remember: CrossFire sound is based on Windows Media Player. If you don't have those codecs, you won't have sound in-game, of foots/steps and weapons.

Download this: Microsoft-Windows-MediaFeaturePack-OOB-Package_x64.msu or/Microsoft-Windows-MediaFeaturePack-OOB-Package.msu?Option #2.

But take a look at this.

Run this command:

control.exe /name Microsoft.Sound

Or select "Sound Control Panel" in Related Settings under the Sound settings.

Usually you're missing codecs on your Windows Media Player should be the issue. See if you're missing them, and after installing, restart PC and try again.

See if you have your CF sound on in your Volume Mixer.

Try downloading K-lite codec pack, install that and see if it works.
