This error is not typical of Crossfire, also of other launchers. There are many solutions. Try one of them:

You might want to let the error sit for about 15 minutes, sometimes, the download will resume. Try to close the launcher and run as administrator when re-launching. If that doesn't help. To run as administrator, go to program files, right-click on launcher.exe and choose: "Run as Administrator".

If you have a desktop shortcut and try to open the launcher from there, try to run it directly from the program files. Sometimes malware causes the WebGet to fail.

Type msconfig.exe in the search box and restart with safe-mode (w/ network). (I suggest you to try everything within the brackets above as well).

Please note to pause your "CF download" while doing this and once done, just resume. It will pick up from where it left off.
Completely disable your firewall.
Add CrossFire launcher to your antivirus (all and Windows Defender) exceptions list.
Ensure your network type is set to "Home network".

Click on the Start button, then select Control Panel, Internet Options, and finally the Security tab and lower the slider for Internet, Local intranet, Trusted sites, and Restricted sites.

Sirpano no funciona sigue el mismo problema con ese bug la descarga llega a 99 % y dice (fuente confiable descargando datos corructos ) 3.90 mb no deja finalizar la descarga
